Amazon Music and Qobuz problems on the FiiO M11

I have version 16.5.4 installed and for me nothing has changed. Downloaded ultra and HD songs will play after the app is bump started as per the steps posted in this thread. Will not stream ultra or HD tracks at all.

I received my Fiio yesterday and that was the first thing I tested.

Streaming works for me after bump starting the app, I've got Tidal as well and that works perfectly.

However given that MQA isn't fully supported, is it worth it ?

Sorry to revive an old topic, but can anyone confirm if this issue is still ongoing.

I recently purchased an M11 and also use Amazon HD for streaming.

I did experience the same issues noted above with my car head unit, but a recent update of the app fixed the issue.

So I'm hoping that will apply to the Fiio as well.

yes, still same procedure, I am used to it now its not even a problem, once you are playing inside the amazon hd app everything works fine.

Still everything the same, although FiiO send me a new firmware which did not help.
I still have to kickstart Amazon and when returning to Qobuz have a lot of patience, like 5 minutes or so before it starts to play. Some restarts included.

Greeting to Germany, thank you for starting this topic.
I was so exited to receive M11 Pro, but when started using it I realized that there are so many software issues that I now lean towards dx220.
While I was able to start playing Amazon Ultra HD music thanks to the guide posted in this thread, I still can't download several albums for offline play. Amazon app simply freezes and I need to restart it. After restart it freezes again.
I gave up, if FiiO does not find a solution by the end of 2019 I will return the player and switch to dx220. I wanted to wait until FiiO releases M15 Pro before buying M11 Pro, but since it is going to have the same CPU and Android 7, it simply does not even make sense to look at FiiO players until they switch to Android 8 or 9. Looks like it is a compatibility issue with Android 7, because players with Android 8 do not have such problem, correct me if I am wrong.

What types of problems do you have? I use the m11 exclusively with the amazon HD app, streaming and download and I have no problems at all, using it daily.

I hope you are not a FiiO employee who posted this message for sake to hide the problems, since they are confirmed by others as well :)

Note, this is M11 Pro. Although M11 and M11Pro have identical CPU and Android, they have different DACs and different drivers and may behave differently.
  1. This pathetic workaround to play Amazon HD after playing something in FiiO Music does not always work, I need to close both apps or sometimes even restart the player to get Amazon Music working.
  2. Can't download Ultra HD albums, the app freezes and needs restart. What I noticed when I enqueue an album or two it tries to download 2 tracks at a time which causes glitch, if I download one by one it works. But still did not test this approach well, these glitches drive me crazy.
  3. Amazon app stops playing after a minute or two, can't understand the pattern. I need to play FiiO music again and then switch Amazon. Can't do this every 2 minutes.
  4. And the last but not least, sometimes sound dissappear in both Amazon and FiiO player, it shows that the music is playing but no sound. Currently the only way to solve this is to restart the player.

No, i do not work for fiio, I bought their unit with my own hard earn money.
1. Fiio never advertised to support amazon HD. I was dissapointed to find that out when I got it, but at least there is a workaround. I am using amazon HD because of the 6 months trial for free, but spotify and tidal are thousands of miles ahead of Amazon HD and to be honest, is hard to justify the miniscule difference in sound there is, if any. I wont keep amazon HD after free trial subscription is over. So problem solved for me.
2. Are you downloading to external sd card or internal? the m11 has extremely slow writting speed. I save directly to sd card. No problem.
3. Make sure you have a 24bits / 192khz file played in fiio app and open an ultra HD file when the amazon music HD launches. that happens when you go from HD to Ultra HD, I know, it is annoying.
4. I mostly use the spdif out but it has happened sometimes when I use the SE 3.5 jack to the headphones. I disconnect and reconnect the headphone jack and problem solved.

I am sorry, but You do sound like someone from FiiO who tries to spam with random messages and hide all problems. You created your account after this thread was opened and posted messages only here. And you began with "Just signed up in head-fi to thank you!. Amazon HD in Fiio M11 working like a charm.". Now you are saying that Amazon is not supposed to work.

What you mentioned I am already doing. Paying $700 for HIFI player and listening Spotify as you suggested is similar to buying 4K TV and watching DVD cassette. It is obvious that this player is full of problems and instead of trying to get it working somehow I will buy other device that works fine just fine.

I have to admit, that I do not know.
My Samsung Galaxy mobile phone has none of the problems and it is on the latest Android.
So maybe it is the Android version, maybe FiiO just messed up. The only thing is that I really like the SPDIF Coax out and my Samsung is not giving me this.

Whatever bro, I am just sharing my experience here with the m11. If you you really need to get amazon hd working flawlessly this DAP is not for you then. Just get a fully supported android phone + DAC/AMP device and stop wasting your money on things that will make you unhappy. To be honest stacking a cheap Samsung phone to a q5s, xduoo, mojo, ifi device will work just as fine if not better than m11.
