I found head-fi back when I was in high school. Now I'm in college, have some money, and knew exactly where to go for suggestions on how to squander it.
 
I've been shopping around for headphones, and so far I've really liked the AKG K701. I've heard thought that some people have found that it doesn't work right with all amps... I was planning on getting a 2009 Zero DAC/amp which would run my cans directly, so I was wondering if anyone has tried out this pairing. What do you think?
 
Of course, alternate suggestions for DAC/amps that work well with the K701s or cans that work well with the Zero are welcome .

That's my setup right now. I have the K702's with the Zero Amp (OPA 627), and it works splendid. Plenty of power, IMO. Just be sure that you understand tat the K70x are lacking a tad in bass quantity, but have plenty of bass quality, and you won't be disappointed.
