AKG K3003 High End 3 Way System Headphone

Can you recommend an aftermarket set of eartips for my AKG K3003i? I'm using the middle sized ones but from my left ear sometimes it loosens up and almost falls out. I need something in size between the middle and the large one in the original K3003 set.
When i still had mine, the stock tips were the best. Spinfits sounded way too sibilant, sony hubrids had bad isolation, acoustune bad isolation, spiraldots bad isolation etc.

My beloved k3003i was recently stolen from my car!
While shopping for a new replacement, I am eyeing tantalizingly the N5005, thinking maybe it's God telling me to upgrade Lol.
Has anyone auditioned the N5005 and think it's worth 2x the money?
What are other comparable earbuds in the $300-400 range? Right now I'm borrowing a MEE Pinnacle P2 and don't like it. I also don't like the bass-heavy Klipsch X20.

I own the n5005, I also still have the k3003,Beyer xelento and moondrop blessing The n is my go to headphone these days with my iPhone, it’s sound characteristic, comfort and flexibility (Bluetooth is handy) suits me perfectly. I use the moondrop (4xba, 1 dd) mainly with my SONY WM1A as they are a great match. Don’t really use the xelento much but they are the best for electronic so I keep them around. I would look at the moondrop blessing for the budget you stated, if you can get to canjam and shenzen audio are there you can audition them. You could get k3003 for that price but there’s a high chance they will be counterfeit.

Edit - I’ve heard good things about fiio fh5 (from a former k3003 user) I think they are quite inexpensive also.

Try the acoustune hs1551, not as bassy as those klipsch nor is the soundstage to the level of the k3003 but theyre pretty good, gets the job done pretty well. Perfect counterweight to my empire ear zeus' midcentric nature.

If you have the chance to listen to one yourself before committing to buy, that's always a good idea. In my country we sometimes come together at a restaurant to listen to our gears, but there might be some exhibitions or hifi shows as well, good for this purpose.

*****2/18/2018 Update*****
I just bought an open-box N5005 on ebay for under $500USD. :relaxed:
Listened to a couple of favorite classical tracks so far with the "Reference filter", the clarity, tonal balance and soundstage quite exceed those of K3003i. I wouldn't say it's worth 2x the price, but for $150 more that I paid I think it's well worth it.
Haven't decided what I'll do with my K812, since the N5005 is very nearly its match. Might trade it for Focal Utopia or Stellia.

Thanks, but already got it.

Wonderful IEMS. Enjoying through all my music again and again.

I use it with PC>Gustard U12>Optical>Mojo(2 Supercaps as in hugo tt2, instead of battery)>K3003

Is anyone still use and enjoys their K3003?
What setups do you have?

Thanks

Still use mine, but relegated to home/garden use rather than commute/desk. powered by a Cowon P1 (still the best synergy), Sony WM1A, Shanling M0, or Oppo HA2-SE and iphone. Don't really like it with the Mojo...

regards,

Giles

to the above question dated 23/06,
I’m selling my mmcx modded K3003 at a fraction of its cost finally....after being with me for years. I think the drivers have been surpassed by the surge of many new offerings i.e. CA, JVC, Noble, CIEM brands. I don’t think it’s justifiable to pay that exuberant asking price for brand new K3003. Frequency wise it isn’t fantastic as I found the bass doesn’t possess deepness and quantity. It lacks speed and separation for music with demanding technicality and complex passages. I would still give it praise for its crisp resolving highs, clarity and tonality of midrange but everything else such as body was disappointingly too thin for my liking.
