Yeah it's not a massive improvement upon the midrange products no matter which TOTL IEM you go with, but that 20-30% increase in SQ across the board makes it preettttyyyy hard to go back.

For 24/96 FLAC vinyl rips, you'll have to upgrade though.

16-44 is how high i go , i listen to mostly well recorded music (or vinyl rips from 60s-90s before the loudness war) so all is well

you understand how good these are after putting on some not so good iems

so , which iem would be a logical upgrade ?

i don't think that there is anywhere to go any further... maybe, MAYBE dita truth the answer,, but that is it, you knid of reached the top for universal iems. for customs, there are more like sidegrades, than pure upgrades...

Glad to hear you're enjoying them. The K3003 are supremely awesome

Glad you're enjoying the k3003. I'd put the k3 over the ref1 for sure (which is kind of a mess).

I think you'll find the k3003 will let you hear things you've never heard in music before. You'll start to notice...the chirping of birds. Then, you'll notice birds chirping even when there's no music playing, but by then it may be too late!

I had both DITAs, neither are better than the K3003, more of a sidegrade. REF1 is definitely... Not my taste lol

then, there you have it. dita truth answer, ie800, se846, k3003 and some universal versions of customs are the high end of high end...

yep. auditioned some other contenders but the k3003 turned out to be the right choice for me.

i really wanna thank all the people here bashing it - i guess it helped me find a used pair here in great condition/price

when i put on my DX90/K3003 combo at work , the following quote from Aldous Huxley comes to mind

"An intellectual is a person who's found one thing that's more interesting than sex."

(Huxley didn't have that kind of iems back in the day - or he would have substituted 'intellectual' with 'audiophile')
