Hi,

I would like your advice on what/how should I upgrade my current equipment:

Headphones: Grado SR325e, Beyerdynamic T90 Jubile
IEMs: 64audio U8 with stock premier cable (silver-plated copper)
DAP: Fiio X5 3rd gen
AMP: iFi Micro iDSD

I'm thinking on moving from the Fiio X5 to iBasso DX200 and maybe a cable upgrade for my IEMs (copper silver hybrid or pure silver).

Any recommendation wild be really appreciated
Thanks.

Maybe get a Darkvoice 336SE tube headphone amplifier, for drivng the Beyer T90.
And just plug your IEMs directly into the FiiO X5.

Not for sure about your daps but the Questyle QP1R is just fantastic. Will run full sized headphones like my Ether-C’s and HD-800’s and RS1’s with not much of a problem.

Upgrading the headphones always has the biggest impact by far ...

T90's are good (have them too) but there's still a step up to the TOTL-headphones ...

Of course all depends on your budget but if you got about 700$ to spare I'd go for a used HD800 - or a Hifiman Edition X maybe :)

Other thing I can really recommend is getting a STAX setup ...

Thanks for your comments

The thing with my current DAP (X5 3rd gen) is that i don't really hear/feel it shinning through balance output, in fact I'm thinking about getting a Sony ZX300 or WM1A.

Right know I use my rig mostly in the office so my IEMs (64audio U8) are my first option, cause the T90's are open, but I will try to find a Darkvoice and give it a try at home.

If you would like a 4.4 bal output, then the dx200+amp8 would be a better choice than the Sony daps in terms of sound quality.
Even better than WM1A???, this is the second time I hear that... I will have to consider it.
Thanks.
