I just wanna say congrats to all new Encore owners,
After purchasing A12 and Layla i still think the E are one of the very best, a unique British top sound and amazing value!
They are also a match made in heaven to Hugo, their mate from round the corner, the combo is a killer:thumbsup::beers::violin:

Thank you to the top team at ACS for delivering my Encore Studio Ciems before I went on holiday:) received them 30 minutes ago by special delivery. They fit perfectly.
There are no changes to the sound when I open my mouth or put finger pressure on any part of silicone shells of the monitors. They are comfortable too.
I was worried that they would hurt my ear canals before I received them but my fears were unfounded. The tips go quite a way into the ear canal but not enough to cause any discomfort. I have a condition called surfers ear which causes bony growths to emerge into the 2nd bend of the ear canal.
I have obviously tried the Encores and am not going to go into great detail on the sound quality until I've spent a lot more time with them.
What i will say is that even through the headphone out of my Note II the volume has to be turned down to half of any other iem i own. And as soon as i inserted the Encores, there was a highly significant drop in outside noise. The jack connection to the Note II is small enough to work with my portable power pack on whereas the fiio mini jack adapter won't fit.
The Encores have arrived with a tough black storage box containing ACS comfort cream, silica gel, a booklet, a wax removal tool and a quarter inch adapter. The revivo portable electronic dryer and sanitiser and dry capsule tablets for it are in separate boxes.

This is good to hear. Hope my wait is no longer than yours and hope your holiday is lovely.

The battery died in my Pure II so I listened to the Encores directly out my DX90 for the first time in months. They benefit hugely from the amp. Instrument separation, soundstage depth, clarity, dynamics... They just sound muddy to me now without the Vorzuge. Another observation: they are not good IEMs for low volume listening.

Oh ! Why ? To me they can be sensitive to hiss but with their sensitivity they're excellent performer at very low volume with a clean output.

I hope you get back to enjoying them at their best Tony. I have hardly used them outside of my note II. I'm at 45% volume with no outside noise from the cabin through the headphone out flying over the coast off Lisbon listening to Alison Krauss and Union Station at 10 000 feet. It's a hard life.....

Just curious about something.  Is it possible to send ACS photo's of your impressions and they check (to an extent) and they see if the impressions are ok or not?

I did. They replied that they weren't sure about the quality of the impressions and asked me to send them in (only to reject them). I imagine they could give you a good indication as to the suitability of your impressions if you were to send them a few detailed pictures.

It's not a question of not enjoying them at their best. I love the sound, just feel that they sound better with the volume cranked up :)

So to dip my toe in the water of ACS I've gone and ordered the universal evoke ( I know this is the encore thread, doesn't seem to be much traction on the universal).  If I like the sound of that I may end up going to acs for bigger things :P
