Hi , have you now got a great fit? Why are your ears difficult to get impressions on? Did you get your impressions done by an Audiologist? Andy says America are better set up to working with CIEM manufacturers so it's a shame you've had problems

It would be worth making a trip when there's a CanJam on and getting to Banbury to see where it all started Nik. I'm envious of your custom sleeves because they don't make them any more but I don't suppose I shall need them once I get the Encores. Do you have both the Evolve and the Encore. Andy mentioned he prefers the flatter reference signature of the Evolves for much of the music he listens to.
Sorry Cagin I completely misunderstood you. Best of luck with your decisions will be keen to see what you choose in the end. I must be more impulsive , I chose in 10 minutes!

I do have both the evolve and encores. I feel that the evolve are 90 percent of the encores, nice bass and resolution, but ultimately I find that I use my encores most of the time. I always have my evolve with me and use them when I get a break at work, on the road, or for working out. I'd love to make the trek to Banbury, perhaps someday

I just got my custom sleeves a few months ago, why did they stop making them? I can't listen to the er 4 p anymore though. They sounds shrill and strident to me after listening to the ACS

Hi Nik , I never asked them when I was there, I know there was an awful lot of work to get the earsleeves for me, it's probably not worth their while financially to keep the earsleeves running.

I also think this is the reason.
However, if they already have your impressions (retained for 4 years) then they are able to send them to the USA office, which still makes sleeves.

I have had no fit issues with any ACS product.  I had T1, was great now have evoke, encore, sleep plugs and full concha earplugs.  All fit very well.

I am loving the sound of the encores, and also really love the evoke, which i use for working out.    And the service is exemplary.  Its a small company.

This is somewhat off topic but how do you find the sleep plugs for comfort, and more importantly, waking up? Can you use a normal alarm clock or phone alarm clock or is that too quiet?
Also, if you use them regularly, does that make sleeping somewhere that isn't silent more difficult (without the plugs)?

I've thought about getting a pair, since ACS will have my impressions already.

I don't use them often enough.  I would hear a loud alarm clock, but I've never used them in situations where it was critical that i be awake.  If you are thinking about it get a pair of sleep plugs.  They fit well and block out most of the sound.   I also got a full concha pair for use when I run a snowblower, which was often this past winter.  The full concha plugs block around 30 dB I think.

Yeah I meant sleep plugs. Thanks. The predicament is that I would most want to wear them when I needed to be up and also needed to sleep properly. I guess I could get one of those vibrating alarm clocks if I really needed it.
I have a wake light alarm clock but right now my blinds have too many gaps for it to work after sunrise outside.

I haven't received my Encore but based on my experiences so far, I just want to repeat what other people have said.

1. ACS are great to deal with and they are very prompt in dealing with things, compared to other CIEM manufacturers.
2. Paul from the Custom IEM Company is great to deal with. If you're in London or anywhere that they cover, buying a CIEM through them is a wise choice. One good reason is the simple matter of expertise when it comes to impressions for a CIEM, and knowledge of CIEM sound and fit in general.

Just a quick update on the ACS Encore: it just keeps getting better and better. :) The soundstage and timbre is really outstanding. Tip: great synergy with the PAW Gold and the new HM 901S.

I like the look of the PAW Gold, even though I can't really imagine the Encore sounding any better than they do out of my humble little setup.

The pristine sound and effortless power of the PAW allows the Encore to show what it can do. Great platform. :)

Guess we have to call this, "the PAWS that refreshes" (ouch!)
:D
