I know it's small comfort (hah!) to you, but many's the time I thought "maybe I should have gone with ACS this time after all".  The fact that you are having this much hassle (fit wise anyway!), is some relief to me anyway :P

All of my problems have stemmed from poorly taken impressions and if you're eyeing up the Encore I wouldn't let my experience deter you. The first impressions I had done were a joke and ACS wouldn't even accept them. The second set were too short in the left canal. ACS were hopeful that it could be remedied by a couple of extra layers of lacquer and I thought for a while that it had done the trick - but no. The audiologist who took them today was very thorough. She made me sit there for 15 minutes while they set and to my novice's eye they look far better than the previous two so I'm optimistic this time. Despite all this, I believe I have experienced the Encores at their best and they're very impressive. I wanted the Noble K10 and might get them one day but if this experience has been tedious it would be downright painful having to wait two months while Noble worked on the refits...only to have to return them again. At least with ACS it's only a matter of days.

Anyway, I don't want to clog this thread up with my complaints so I'm going to clear off until they're back with me :D

I have had no fit issues with any ACS product.  I had T1, was great now have evoke, encore, sleep plugs and full concha earplugs.  All fit very well.

I am loving the sound of the encores, and also really love the evoke, which i use for working out.    And the service is exemplary.  Its a small company.

Hi the ear impressions are the key to a perfect fit. My journey was extraordinary and I was treated like a leper by Audiologists having gone back to Boots twice I did my own ear impressions. I sent them in to ACS and had custom sleeves made for me using these home made impressions. So as a Diyer I can be self critical; the left ear is very slightly too tight and the right ear is perfect. Both sleeves give a tight fit and the sound through the sleeves is incomparably better than the Universal fit.
I am not advocating anyone to follow in my footsteps as you would think an Audiologist would be better at getting a good impression than a lay person. I believe wholeheartedly that ACS are the best people to go to for an ear impression rather the local hearing aid person down the road.

Have just come off the phone after talking to ACS; they demo the Encore at Abingdon. It is a universal which they assure me will be a decent idea as to how the CIEM will sound.
Surely a demo is the right way to go if you are interested in this product?
I will see if I can get up there on Thursday and see if I am able to take some photos for you all. Exciting times are ahead with the possible purchase of a CIEM; no more bulky headphones you can't work out with; perfect sound wherever you are, whatever you're doing, no microphonics on the cable, no outside noise interference!
Most importantly they can be abused, i.e CIEMs are made for musicians who sweat as much as most workouts under those stage lights.
All the ACS CIEMs come with a reviver kit to dry them out thoroughly after a sweat sesh.
It's just a case of getting the right CIEM. In terms of the company for all the patience they showed with me last year and the attention to the small man they afforded me I can absolutely recommend them in the highest regard. This is probably the main reason why I seem to be sold on these before I've even tried them. My IE800s are going up with me and my Custom Klipsch X11is and my HD800s for the demo. These Encores will have their work cut out but I wish them the very best of luck!

In England there's a company called custom iems that have all the major CIEMs to demo and they take your ear impressions themselves. Is there not a San Francisco equivalent ofthat? I am so pleased with ACS I dondon't think I shall bother looking elsewhere and I shall look at what they have.

The babies are home, thanks to Claire at Jaben Singapore who stayed back after closing to ensure I picked them up on way home from the airport. :)
