Acoustune Impressions thread

My 1650 had some problem so it has been sent for repair.
Then I tried 1695. And bought it. It has less bass than 1650 but for some of my songs I felt the lows overpower the vocal a little. But I still love it. Compared to 1695, 1650 highs and details are not as good.

From what I watch YouTube videos. 1 of the hk youtube channel says the PentaconnEar connector gave about 40% difference in sound.

So there should be a big improvement in sound due to the upgraded wire?

The HK guy went to have breakfast with boss of Acoustune and was given 1695 mmcx version to try and he told him nothing special about the sound and then he was handed the PentaconnEar version to test.
He confirmed it has about 40% difference. PentaconnEar connector is made by copper.
Its had bigger contact surface than normal mmcx.
Even the pin is lot thicker than normal mmcx.
It helps to reduce impedance and distortions.

I believes that it holds some truth.
The cable included is a spc + copper cable.
This earphone + the included default cable sounds a lot better than my 1650 with effect audio Leonidas cable.

Sennheiser probably one of the first outside Japan to use this connector

Acoustune seems to have finally launched their custom sleeve program:

Seems like you need to send in your Acoustune IEM for this custom. Cost about $450USD. Can be returned to Universal at a cost.

That doesn’t make much sense though, isn’t this just like a sleeve/custom tip? I use my 1695Ti with CA custom tips and they feel a lot like a custom all around

They turn your Acoustune into custom, it is not sleeve.
I think is the same material used for custom IEM, they just mold it over the Acoustune.
At first I thought it was sleeve but no, when I read more about the pricings on the HK retailer post.
