Yes that stop sign is usually associated with RCA. But, I can show you the same stop sign on many TS D getter 5687s .... that are undoubtedly TS tubes.

Not always. Others used it.

Now that I think about it, my Tungsol D Getter 5687s do have that stop sign!

BTW, when I bought my amp, the seller gave me a pair of TS 5687s but one was a bronze plate and one was a black plate and they had different getters. Is it a bad idea to use this mismatched pair as my power tubes?

It won't hurt anything. It is just that the sound of each tube may be different enough that the sound may be off a little. One may have better or deeper bass etc. It is hard to say for sure but often it is best to try and use like tubes just to get the most out of how they produce sound.

I got a big order of used 12bh7 tubes today and here are some pics. If anyone here has any experience with these, feel free to post your comments. Also, I have a feeling that I won't need all these so if there is anything you want, let me know, we can probably work something out

I was looking at tubes today and found this:
2~ 1970S MATCHED TYPE 12BH7A TUBES GOLD PINS 12BH7 NOS - eBay (item 200280298995 end time Dec-24-08 22:28:32 PST)

Looks alot like your Yellow Print Sylvania No. 1

Tubes in the first picture look a lot like my Tungsol but the getter is different, mine even has the "X" scratched on one of the anodes like that.

Black Plate Raytheon looks interesting, I havent seen a 12BH7 like that before, alot of them have matching structors and that one seems to be different, it doesnt even match the RCA. I also dont think any of your tubes are RCA.

Yeah, RadioShack gold plated the pins, which doesn't mean anything. Most of the time their tubes were Japanese, which is fine but those tube aren't worth near what is being asked. I would pay about 15 dollars each or actually nothing as I don't care for that type.

Interesting as the curved plate of many 12BH7's is the same as the 12BZ7, which is a double 12AX7 (lower plate resistance same mu as the 12ax7).

Would you run goodyears on one side of your car and dunlops on the other side?

Sometimes you have to get some time on it. If new it needs some hours to smooth out. You got to get it hot enough to at least get the getter going.

I have yet to receive my 12BH7A but I quite like 7316 over Telefunken ECC82. It is much smooter and is much cleaner in all frequencies.

Still prefer 12BH7A and 5963.

It's too thin to me. like it gave me less dynamic than the 5963 and 12BH7A. It may good with HD650, but not my audio-technica.

I turned the amp on all night and started the listening session at 3pm. hope it's long enough. -_-"
