A-GD Tenor TE8802 Thread (Installation, Successes, Problems, Troubleshooting)

crashing so many times with the TE8802 chip atm, either computer CPU goes 100% and I need to force a shutdown, or I bluescreen.

Why is the driver actually ASIO? I mean, it says non active when I use spotify and other windows stuff - it doesn't make sense to me.

When I use foobar I use ASIO, and it's alright. I don't have problems with that.

watching youtube videos severely slows down my computer and sometimes it crashes.

I'm not really sure anymore what causes this, it worked fine for a while when I initially switched to ASIO @ foobar.

Some of the blue screens or drop outs of audio can be attributed to whatever cable is coming from the pc, to the back of the unit in question. I have had problems when just accidentally moving the usb cable when the unit is powered on. Causing the audio-gd driver to drain my cpu (amongst other things). Forcing a reset. The cable not being properly plugged in, has also caused this.

Check usb Cable please.

yeah I read your comment about the USB cable, I'll try to pay attention if it actually is that happening, although I highly doubt it since it usually happens more frequently when I switch between audio sources etc...

sent an e-mail to Kingwa, he responded that the Tenor company won't release new drivers until March 2013 - which is too bad :/ Hopefully those drivers will make the NFB15.1 more friendly with windows directsound

bad news ...

could anyone with a tenor 8802 device please test this:

http://www.thesycon.de/dpclat/dpclat.exe

You don´t have to install this (Windows 8 users shouldn´t try it, because ist doesn´t work accurately atm). Simply start it.

Then open your music player and play an audio file.

what does dpc latency checker say? how high are your measured values?

Nov 14, 2012 at 12:44 PM Post #38 of 64
when using Fiio E17 w/ directsound spotify and foobar2000 :
around 100µs - spiked at 200 µs

when using the NFB 15.1 w/ native asio drivers foobar2000:
frequently went from 100 µs to 1000 µs (edit: shot up to 2440 3000 µs max)

when using NFB 15.1 w/ directsound spotify:
1000-1200 µs (2600 µs max - but it keeps rising as I write this lol)

when using NFB 15.1 w/ directsound youtube:
around 800-1200ish µs (2655 µs max)

test interval was at 1000 µs.

misios, thank you very much. may i ask what components your windows machine has? chipset, cpu?

imho this values are way too high. this clearly is a bug in firmware/driver of the tenor te8802L.

could you also check this with www.resplendence.com/download/LatencyMon.exe

this time you have to install the proggie. play an audio file back, clickthe green play button in LatencyMon and collect data. after a minute or so, have a look at the CPU tab. what was the highest cpu hog? i guess it is usbport.sys. btw, this has nothing to do with this one : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/981214/en-us , although the bahviour looks similar. but it is not the MS usb drivers, it is the tenor driver rising the DPCs/ISRs on usbport.sys so high.

thanks!

Want me to send you my dxdiag file? I'm not particularly good with computers...

I'll test the second thingie out later, right now I'm writing an outline for an essay.

and thank you for clarifying that it isn't the microsoft drivers being defect, I've had problems with both versions of the audio-gd drivers (1.0 and 1.1)

this was when playing different songs, I noticed some songs used a lot of µs, while others used much less.
had problems getting the pictures to show with the spoiler function, so i'll just use the copypaste function from the program: _________________________________________________________________________________________________________
CONCLUSION
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Your system seems to have difficulty handling real-time audio and other tasks. You may experience drop outs, clicks or pops due to buffer underruns. One or more DPC routines that belong to a driver running in your system appear to be executing for too long. One problem may be related to power management, disable CPU throttling settings in Control Panel and BIOS setup. Check for BIOS updates.
LatencyMon has been analyzing your system for  0:06:02  (h:mm:ss) on all processors in the system.

this is what I have assumed

Driver with highest DPC total execution time:         USBPORT.SYS - USB 1.1 & 2.0 Port-driver, Microsoft Corporation

could you please open the command line (cmd.exe)

run this from within the command prompt

Code:
 cd %SystemRoot%\System32\drivers dir usbehci.sys usbport.sys winusb.sys

copy and paste your output here

------------------------------------------------
edit:
received your email. your motherboard chipset is an AMD 770 + SB710, your CPU an AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 955, thank you for the information.
