I really hope Akina bolts too, just 'cause he is a hell of a coach. Bye coach Boom! *fake tear* I've also heard Kevin Steele from Clemson might be the new DC. "Heard", heh that is just from the boards I pay for.

So did USC but not all the SEC teams. You don't have to be impressed, but I think one should credit the Pac 10 for that. I've always thought the Pac 10 crowed the truest conference champion with their complete round robin schedule. And he is right, that is one less patsy their schools can schedule.

I wouldn't say the Pac is tougher, don't think it is, but a good point is a good point.

Uncle Erik:
I disagree. Smash mouth, for me that would mean more narrow line gaps, with more in between the tackle running, is as vital as ever.
First, everyone and their momma has been running spread for a decade, and D's have adjusted accordingly. Watch football out there. You'll see much more nickel, or 4-2-5 defense than ever. In most 4-2-5's, the traditional strong side linebacker has been replaced by a linebacker/safety hybrid. Translation, D's have become progressively smaller and faster. How does one combat a small, fast D? Run straight at it with power.
I think "smash mouth" Football is as vital as ever. Hell, look at Mack Brown and Texas. He played Bama last year, then immediately set his goal for more downhill running. The significance? Texas is in a spread league! He's not an idiot and saw the same things I and many others do.

It also fits in with recent changes to the game. More penalties are given for monster hits, so the old smashmouth ways are over. You're going to find fast, aerobic and athletic teams picking up the wins.
