Way to go Wuss, you are undefeated and alone in the lead!

Everyone else that had enough courage to make picks was 2/3 or 1/3, no one went 0-3. I think many were surprised that the weird Fresno bowl trend continued, with NI without a coach and having just lost the championship of their division as well. I know I was:

"Fresno State (8-5) continued its troubling postseason trend of playing up against BCS opponents, but struggling against those from non-automatic qualifying conferences. In its last 11 bowl appearances, the Bulldogs are 4-1 against BCS teams and 0-6 against the others."

Northern Illinois is a lot better team than most people who don't live around here probably realize.  Their loss in the last seconds of the MAC championship was inexcusable, to be sure, bot had they won that game, they'd have had a chance for a 12-win season.  As it is they won 11 games, and beat some AQ conference teams along the way.  There are 3 FBS programs in the state of Illinois, and I think it's very likely that this year NIU is the best of the three.

I didn't see Ohio getting spanked that badly, though, so looks like I too am guilty of a little regional bias :)  Still, happy to be 2-3 on my pics!

No regional bias here. I analyzed that bowl and took a bit of a flyer. Ohio has a senior Qb and has played some decent D. Troy is a program full of AQ cast offs which was going to NOLA. So I hunched they might be in more of a party kind of mood than the more mature Ohio team.

Yep, very insightful on my part!

NIU was an easy pick save their coaching situation. That threw a wrench into the process. Still, glad I stuck with matchup. There are a lot of tough picks early. I wouldn't be surprised if I were out of it quick. :D
