There is no way to avoid the upgrade-monster.
The dac in the Burson is a budget dac. You are just as likely to want to upgrade from that as from the Muse, or any other dac.
I had the Grace m902, and when I noticed I couldn't hear the difference between the mid-fi CDP I used as a transport and the DAC in the Grace, I sold the whole thing and got the WA2. However - the Grace is worth it's money as a standalone amp - at least if you need several inputs and a pre-amp. I really enjoyed it with the HD650, but it got too bright with the T1, and I was curious about tubes.....
I also had the (as mentioned) the USD 3500 Naim Dac with an extra $1000 PSU - that is a USD 4500 award-winning dac. When I tested it blind with a buddy - I preferred the Muse 18 of 20 times. My buddy prefers the Naim 8 of 12 times, however. But often we really couldn't tell them apart.
The reason I'm pushing this cheap dac (besides it beeing an excellent dac regardless of price) is to make people realize that
it's not always about money. Right now am enjoying the WA2 with extreme satisfaction through some Sony earbuds that came with a mid-price walkman CD-player

) I didn't believe my ears! (but Sony do/did know their earbuds - too bad they now discontinued most of them)
First thing I did, of course was to order some more expensive earbuds. Two different pairs, actually.....................

Ok - just keep in mind that upgradeitis is a killer in the audio world, and spending $50 on a DAC that you can find lots of people saying is very good for the money is unlikely to prevent you from wanting to buy a $500 or $1,000 DAC later (which is why I recommend the 160D, which seems relatively no-compromise for the $$). Consider yourself warned.
