1MORE H1707 Triple-Driver Over Ear

Mar 31, 2018 at 4:28 PM Post #151 of 1,602
I find them comfortable. I have the original black gold ones (but the gold seems more like a bronze to me). I thought they were over ear. They cover my whole ear. They used to belong to my husband but he has too many :) I do too... but not as many. I did give him my Xiaomi Mi Headphones - 2nd generation designed by 1More. They are on ear and have graphene drivers.

@Slater please don't take them all apart. They are too nice to risk.

@SoundSquare I do not have any muddiness or any of the problems you mentioned. Could something be wired out of phase? I would exchange them. They should not sound as you describe.

You mean the gold EU versions also have graphene material now? Thought they gold ones all would be titanium still. Does it say on the box or how did you figure that out?

I sent a support query to US 1More site regarding the Graphene & tuned by Luca Bignardi version but only got an answer that I have to contact the 1More UK site and it doesn't even seem to have a general "info" email / form, only the ones for repairs and such so I'm doubtful I'd get a meaningful answer there.

Are the new Gold versions in EU now exactly the same as US, is it the exact same tuning & material? @AudiophileAri

No mine are titanium and we bought them many months ago. They became mine around Christmas time. My husband originally ordered them. It says titanium o the box. Nothing wrong with titanium.

The graphene driver ones I was talking about are these: Xiaomi Mi Headphones - 2nd generation designed by 1More. They are on ear and have graphene drivers. Have had them for many months as well. Originally I thought I was ordering the first generation ones... those were the ones I actually wanted.... with the Beryllium driver. All the rave reviews were about the first generation ones. They came with three sets of pads to make them how you wanted them to sound. I already had a plan for which pads I would use. So I was a bit disappointed. The graphene version that they sent, while sounding really good, was brighter than I prefer. Also I had planned to use the larger pads which were not included with this version. Oh, and the cable had the Y split so close to my throat that it made me feel like it would choke me I would have loved to have had the ones that are actually described in the link below. I think the seller did not know there had been a change.

Very confusing products. I believe Xiaomi and 1More were once linked.

Only the US silver and black versions have graphene drivers. The UK bronze and black will never have graphene - only titanium.

I really love the look and the sound of the UK version. Happy to have it. Spent a few hours with it today.

I think the USA version should have a different model number because there is more than just a color difference. To me, a different driver makes it a different headphone.

Would be very odd decision if that's the case. It shouldn't be called the same then. If tuning is different it's a different product.

The different voicing and color was in response to consumer feedback at CANJAM events. So I would say it's the opposite. Different markets have different sound profile expectations. The US version was developed to suit this market better. The design of the product is the same just the tuning, materials and color changed. So it's still the same product hence no reason to change the name .

Hope that helps.

Odd that the USA wants different sound. I had heard that they prefer silver to gold... but his is not a bright yellow gold... it is a nice gold....very tastefully done. As an American living in the UK which sound am I supposed to prefer... LOL.

Eventually both versions will be available to you so you will have a choice .

Best,

I have the black gold one and have for several months. I was just making a joke. I really don't understand what the USA market did not like about the sound of the original version. Can you tell us what the differences in sound are meant to be?

Will both versions be available in both markets?

...and how would someone guess which version they would prefer?

US version is less bright, better upper mids and more low end extension. USA has no plans to carry UK version, UK has plans to carry both.

You said : US version is less bright, better upper mids and more low end extension. USA has no plans to carry UK version, UK has plans to carry both.

This makes it sound like the US version is superior. If that is the case why not put the graphene drivers in all of them AND have a color choice as many headphones do. A color choice in all markets but with the graphene driver in both and call it H1707 MKII

It's a slippery slope when you start splitting naming conventions. But the feedback is noted.

For sure other brands have. But our naming convention stems from the physical attributes of the headphones design. Triple Driver, Quad Driver, Dual Driver etc... All speak to physical design attributes. We don't want to confuse people with more complex naming conventions. We'll leave that to the DAP companies :)

We don't want to confuse people

I think having different drivers in what is supposedly the same headphone will be confusing to people. If the black/gold ones are never going to have the graphene drivers then I think the plan is probably to just stop making the black/gold while making the silver available everywhere. People will have a color choice until the black/gold are gone. Please correct me if I am wrong.
