  I'm upgrading from U12 to A18. I will miss ADEL and my MAM.  I think APEX will suit me fine as I never listen at high volume. I'm in need of a better fit from the customs and I think that will outweigh the benefits of the MAM for me.  Anyone else in a similar situation?

 
I went the other way, from Customs to Universals, though it was due to my left ear anatomy where I have a sharp bend which makes fit uncomfortable.  Also, it wasn't comfortable whenever allergies are acting out.  I'm actually able to get a very good seal with U12 using silicone tips.
 
Btw, why did you decide to upgrade to A18 instead of TIA Fourte?  Unless TIA is offered only in universal?  As you have probably seen in WCDchee reply here, he mentioned that if you like U12 sound then U18 will not be your cup of tea since it's tuned differently.  Per his comment, in terms of a sound, U/A18 is an upgrade from U10.

For that price, you'd best look at their Mojo or iFi Micro iDSD

Me too. I have less trouble with my U12 than I do with my Solar CIEM.

I like a neutral sound.  Also, one of my main reasons for upgrading is to go custom.  The Fourte doesn't offer custom.   Plus the price was right versus getting a pair of A12s.

I know you're not the biggest Mojo fan with this combo, but with the UE buffer jack, I am totally and completely satisfied with silver cables and spinfits. My u12 holds its own against everything I've tried.

Adel modules are to deal with the pneumatic pressure that's caused by iems as they block the ear hole. Almost all iems will have this pressure. Adel acts as the secondary ear drum and absorbs this pressure. So our ear drums aren't impacted. No ear fatigue too. No ringing in the ears.

I said almost all because I haven't faced that pressure with campfire audio Jupiter. I don't know if it's their acoustic chamber technology. I don't feel the sound directly pointed at my ear drum. Rather it feels like the acoustic chamber receives it and I hear the sound. At least that's how my experience has been with it.

Hi guys, I'm thinking of choosing between the U5 and UE 4 pro custom. I listen to various type of music but more in metal, jazz and female vocal. I prefer a high definition and quality bass. I have tried both of them and I like the beautiful treble in the UE4, but the neutrality yet nice bass in U5 also obsess me. Can I have more advice from you guys?

Your cable appears to be more pliable than either the Pandora SPC, RSD Silver Litz 4-braid that I have.

This conductor is very pliable. WAY better than the Pandora. I can't speak for the RSD, though.

In my original post that contains the multiple emails I wrote to 64 Audio, I detailed exactly where the coloration problems were. 

BTW, keep in mind that during all of my correspondences with them, 64 Audio never once disputed my findings and simply said the U5 I sent back has no tuning problems and sounds as it should according to their intended tuning. Not once did they tell me that my testing was flawed or that my assertion that the frequency response of the U5/U10 are nowhere near neutral or suitable for professional audio uses where accuracy is of utmost importance. This is why I said this is simply part of the culture of consumer audio industry and how the marketing department of these companies work--they make promises that their products can't fulfill, and provide no objective testing/measurements to back up their claims, and it's disappointing. It's sort of like how Bose is notorious for never posting any measurements and simply tells consumers, "Just trust us. Our stuff sounds great!" In contrast, high-end companies do post test results and measurements to back up their claims. Look no further than Audez'e and how they include a measurement printout of your exact headphone when they ship the product to you. I get that IEMs are harder to measure than other types of headphones, but then what the hell do audio engineers base their decisions on if the companies have no way of objectively testing their products? It's obvious that so many of these smaller headphone companies are run by people who are not audio engineers and are simply basing designs on their own subjective preferences. 

I just read the threads about your claim that the U5's sounding is away from neutrality as described by the company. As I'm planning to grab one, I'm now little hesitated and went to try it. Not sure if I'm psychologically affected by your post or what.The treble sounded a little over at the peak.More importantly it seems to be discontinued, so I'm wondering if it's the matter of the fault in tuning or just by fluke?
