1964 Ears Adel IEMs

Is there anyone here that can explain a little more about the difference between the A6 and A8? Is the A8 very bass heavy? Is it only for bassheads? I'm looking for "natural and flat" but with a small amount of enhanced bass. For a reference, I do like the bass in my B&W P7

Why the B1 with the U10 instead of the S1?

B1 has less bass, better soundstage, better instrument separation and more airy presentation than S1. If you like bass you need to go for U12. But if you like a neutral-warm sound, U10 + B1 will be the right choice.

I own the A10. They came with the S1 then I bought the B1 and it was a nice improvement in the sound being more open and detailed without sacrificing much at the bass region IMO then I bought the MAM. What I can tell you is that the B1 are back in my A10.

Thanks, that's really helpful. I'll give it a few months with the B1 before considering a MAM.

U12 is sold out at the sale price. Would U10 with S1 improve bass and isolation while still favoring mids and highs?

If you ask me, I'd pick the B1 any day, not because S1 lacks highs or mids. But because, B1 has better separation, airiness and does well in other technical aspects. I demoed the U10 with the S1 module actually and I did not feel the mids and highs were lacking. And U10 + B1 does not lack bass, the bass is just a little less than the S1.

U8 I have is not super bassy, it is pretty balanced with a nice solid sub-bass rumble. With the MAM it is very nice, thought the highs are a tad rolled off to my ears. Detail is there, just a little rolled off.

@christopherogut @videl How about a re-tune option specifically for A12, to make it ideal for low impedance sources? I dont know anything about tuning drivers but I would imagine if 64 could do it for a few hundred bucks, that's be cheaper for many than buying another dac/dap.

+1, or at least include a extension adapter that will take care of the impedance mismatch and allow the U12/U10 owners to continue enjoying the IEM with their current DAPs.

It depends heavily on your source's impedance rating
read the last few pages before making your decision

Who can recommend me a 2,5mm TRRS balanced cable for an U12? I don't want to pay more than 200$.

Check Brooko's review on fiio balanced cable. There are 2 models and one of them fits the u series. Brooko was trying it on u3 or u and had to slice of few inches of plastic for a good fit. I bought one and tried it on my u12. It fits very nicely. No extra steps needed.

I'm having a good time with my u12 with this balanced cable on my AK100ii.

And all this for $30-$35 on amazon :)
Thanks to fiio, Brooko and Amazon.
