3rd day now since I've received my U8. When unpacking I noticed that I was missing one small foam, got 3 large. 64 Audio response was quick, as I type this there is already a replacement posted.
Oh, shipping from the USA to my door in The Netherlands took 2 days. Insanely fast. The U8 was build in 2 weeks, quicker than expected.
So more listening to do and soon my review.
Great earphone, great company! Thanks 64 Audio!!

For a iem upgrade they use the old drivers? So that means the drivers in the Adel line-up are the same as the old one in the quads of v6 v8 versions?

Armatures don't really fade out, they either work or they don't. When we do an upgrade on the models that are offered, usually there is a driver that gets swapped out and the tuning changes a bit. When you upgrade a V to an A it also gets all new crossovers.

V6 & V6-Stage do not share any of the same drivers.
V6-Stage and A6 share the same drivers, as does the V8 to U/A8.
For the Quad to A4, the high driver is different.

I did not listen to the U5 just the A5. I own the UE5 and the A5 were easily better. The main difference was in the midrange and highs. Compared to the UE5 the midrange was cleaner and smooth and the highs were more extended and defined. I could live with the A5 but when I listened to the A10 they have basically the same sound but fuller in all frequencies.

U5 & A5 are the same guts. So if you listened to a Universal/demo version of the A5, it's the same thing as the U5.

Your description is really spot on for the 5/10 comparison though. Not many people demo the 5, so I'm sure your insight will help guide somebody in the future. Thank you for that.

I'm not sure if the V6 or V6-Stage is a direct swap. Sorry.

ok, but the question was more about the driver technology, since 2011 and the quads, I thought the drivers changed a bit....

Ok so you own custom A5s already...got confused if you just Auditioned them or own them as As would mean custom and U would be their universal models. Man maybe in the future ill order a U5 to see how it compares to my A6

Sorry for the confusion... No, I don't own the A5. I listened to the U5 and U10 and end up ordering the A10 since the U10 have the same sound signature than the U5 but more of it.
What I own is the UE5 but wanted something better and more comfortable.

How is the isolation on the A series? I'm interested in getting a pair, but my main listening locations will be in the office and or traveling, and I'm concerned the ADEL port will let too much ambient noise in. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance

I just traveled for the first time with the MAM and find the isolation pretty decent, once I turned on the music, I can't hardly hear the cabin noise.  MAM at fully closed position works better, but I find even at middle position it work well. ymmv.  I have the U12, so A series will be better.
