One other anime I thought was completely off the wall and bizarre ( throwing common sense to the curb like Gurren Lagann and FLCL ) was Sexy Commando.
Does anyone have a source for the actual DVD of it or is it simply just what's floating around in torrent land?

Go check it out. Go look at reviews. Despite the name this is a tragedy manga. Go read it. Its one of my most fav manga of all time. Give it 5-6 chapters.

Im going to guess you didnt care for the super echii gacha gacha but most people like/love bitter virgin

If that's all it takes to creep you out then this anime is probably not for you...
Theres a considerable amount of blood and gore in it so its not suitable for young audiences.
