I've been looking for a fairly cheap amp for my HD800's. I currently use them in conjunction with my Fiio E7/E9 combo. What can I say, I bought those for my Denon D7000 :) As expected I'm left with a very thin and bright sound which doesn't even put the HD800's in the same league as the HD650's...

Got some AKG K501 headphones.   Nice sounding headphones, a bit gentle sounding. The bass is a bit light, but enough.   At the moment my old Marantz 1040 is driving the K501s.   Later I will try the K501s with the Heed CanAmp.   Regards.

I know the obvious answer is, get a tube head amp, but I am looking at Tube Buffer + SS amp. Am aware of gd Audio "SA" versions but are there any other makes in current production? Under $1000 & pre amp or not is ok. TIA.

As the title says, I want one of these amps, and I wondered what would be the better on. It will be running my iPod, with mainly acoustic jazz, and my headphones are Shure 840. I also wondered if the 'crossfeed' function is a welcomed feature.   Input and recommendations highly appreciated.

As title says - I'm also particularly interest to see where the Heed Canamp comes into this equation. Alot of people say that it's very warm, bassy, colored, and the perfect partner for the K701...etc... But it also seems to make everything sound bigger and more 'exciting' than it should be...
