If you could only own *one* headphone, which GRADO model would it be ?

If we omit the limited editions on that basis that they dont come up in FS very often, I believe that leaves us with :   SR60,SR80,MS1,SR125,SR225,MS2,SR325,RS2,MS-PRO,RS1   All I need now is my own island, access to every track every recorded (losslessly) and I could be happy with...

    New cans or new amp

OK I play my flac collection on my PC through an Essence STX card to a pair of Alessandro MS2i   I have been thinking about getting a Schitt Valhalla (tube coolness is a factor here) but the sound of the RS1s I heard a while back has been haunting me.   So hmm... the amp or sell the MS2s...

    From MS-1i to SR-225i?

I have the MS-1i, and love them. How much would I gain SQ-wise if I moved to the SR-225i? Is it worth the extra $$, or should I wait and try for the MS-2i?

    Grado BASSHEAD Mod....

Was discussing this topic in another thread with Tyll and Saturine... and it does work. Place a 1/2" strip of masking tape around the perimeter of your Grado Bowls to increase bass. It creates a more enclosed volume of "pocketed" air between the diaphragm and the eardrum. The driver behaves...

    Grado HD414 pad mod??

Does the HD414 mod change the sound of the Grado's compared to the comfy and bowl pads? Or does it just make it more comfy than either one? Or is it just a cheaper alternative? I've noticed alot of people use the HD414 mod, and my 7 year old SR60's do need a new pad and like the bright yellow color!

Headphones you regretted buying the most

The headphones I regretted the most was the skullcandy skullcrusher. I bought them for 100cad from the source.ca It broke after 5 months, the driver stopped working for some weird reason.. I should have bought a decent dac but that was before I joined head-fi. : frown::f rown:

Grado construction question 60/80/125/225 vs 325/ms2 vs rs1/rs2

The lower end models have the plastic outer shell and plastic for the inner shell too.   The 325 and ms2 have metal outer shell and plastic inner shell.  Magnum mod changes that to an Al inner shell.   The HF2 has metal outer shell and wood inner shell.   What do the RS1 and RS2...

SUggestion for new cans*closed or open* for $300.

Well I got some money and want an opinion.I was originally looking into the 325is but with the new chromeing I'm unsure, and the fact I'm not sure I will like the way they sound. The MS-2 are a viable option also, but then I was looking on headphone.com and noticed the HD598 and 558 are out...

    325is V.S. MS-2

Well, I have been looking into getting the Grado 325is, or possibly the Alessandro MS-2. They are the same price, I love my 80is and i hear the 325is are just unmatched in clarity, I don't hear much about the MS-2 but its always nice to keep options open.

Alessandro MS-2 or Grado SR325is for extended listening?

Trying to decide between these two headphones and struggling to come to a decision. Where I live the MS-2's are significantly cheaper so i'm leaning towards them but I decided to ask on here first.   I'm quite sensitive to treble and I find that harsh treble fatigues me really quickly. I...

    Grado's Alessandro Ms2i vs Ultrasone pro 900

Hi Head-Fiers, I've been a long time avid reader and I finally decided to join, in order to seek the answer to what seems to be an unanswered question.   I have decided to purchase Grado headphones, once I listened to my Ultimate Ears TripleFi10 pro, as they annihilated my Beats by Dr. Dre...

    Upgrade to mid-end...

Yes, I know, this seems like a silly first post to make, but trust me, I've lurked for a long while, and I've been stockpiling potential next-buys. Anyway, for Christmas my father has allowed me to spend $200-250 CAD on a set of headphones, and of course, I don't want to be leaping into...

Alessandro MS2i or Audio Technica M50

Which of the two would be harder to drive? Also, can they be sufficiently powered by a portable amp, like, say, the Corda XXS?

Disssatisssfied with my Alessssandro MS2i headphoness(sibilance and more). Looking for advice or similar experiences.

I recently purchased the Alessandro MS2i to complement my HD650s(which I find lacking in rock/ heavy metal). Upon their arrival I anxiously opened up the box, turned down my lights and set up my tube amp and a good listening environment with my favorite rock songs. Then I turned them on. I was...

    Looking for upgrade recommendations

Hey guys, first post here. I'm looking to upgrade my sennheiser 555's to something a bit more high-end. Basically I'm thinking either HD600's or Alessandro MS-2.
