Just a slight correction, on the Xtra you can hit the power button to bring up the menu then select ok to lock the player. You don't need to press play as well.

Anandtech forum is aslo a good place to aske about monitors. If I were you I'd go to sennheiserusa.com and grab the mx400 earbuds which are $9.99 with free shipping or else I'd grab the same phones from newegg.comfor about $13 shipped. They are far superior to anything in the <$10 range.

I know sennheiserusa.com had them in their store for $9.99 shipped -- although whether they have them in stock is another question entirely. You might try giving them a call as their webstore doesn't keep track of inventory from what I can see.
