Texas Meet (Saturday, March 10th, 2012) [Location Inside]

I would love to attend this meet up if it ends up being in Austin.    I haven't have anything of interest to bring either.

    Need an IEM around 55$

I myself have not listened to any of these IEMs and can't remember what I read from the reviews a while back. I'm sorry I can't be of any help besides giving names of IEMs I heard to be good bang per buck.

    Need an IEM around 55$

Its been a while since i've been on the forums but I know the soundmagic pl-50 are really good for the price as well as the Nuforce ne6/ne7 (the latter has a mic while the former doesn't).

What cans do you plan on buying in 2010?

I've been dreaming of K701s for a long time...the real debacle will be deciding on an amp with my limited budget. And maybe a pair of portapros for the on the go.

Heaphone Needed ( low budget )

Actually, I agree. If you wait around you can grab a great deal in the for sale forum.

What cans do you plan on buying in 2010?

K701s and whatever amp I can afford to go with it (quite possible none). If I can't afford those then AD700s for me. And more mods to squeeze out whatever my SR60s have left. Definitely a new sound card.

Heaphone Needed ( low budget )

Grados sr60s are one of the most universally loved headphones here and for good reason. I'm not sure a guitar pre-amp will have the best sound quality and for the grados, you won't be needing it. 1001s are pretty nice too, but if you are looking for isolation, they don't do that too well...

Are the HF-2/650/701 the Headphone Trinity?

I tire of the ES7's quickly as well and i've been thinking of selling them for a while but never really wanted to let them go. back to the original topic Brighten posted something about a trinity a while ago "Flame me if you will, but every time I see the Senn, AKG and Grado trio, I always...

    Headphone and hats

my friend manages to wear a helmet over his portpros. I havent found a way to do the same with my grados. Hear in texas we don't really have a reason to wear a hat for warmth so I don't really have much other advice.

Should headphone companies recommend various amps for their headphones?

Should headphone companies recommend various amps for their headphones?

There would also be problems where ymmv kicks in. People probably won't take it too well when they blow all that money on the recommended set up and then don't like it. Though I don't really see that happening too often, but when it does, the unhappy tend to be very vocal about their slights...

    outlook of this site

Searching for and finding what you are looking for is really too difficult. I can see how that can be alleviated somewhat by standardizing post titles with some nomenclature for reviews and such so that searching for those will be easier to find. Thats really all I would like to have fixed.
