Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
With the A1/GS boards, they need quite a bit of time to come into their own. Yes they're used boards, but may not have been used for a while. I seriously wondered if my Yggdrasil Analog 1 was broken for the first couple days when I hooked it up eight (!) years ago. My Yggdrasil has been part of...- ZoNtO

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
That's a pretty narrow-minded view. It has been objectively proven that there have been running changes in Schiit products that have changed the sound. Objective meaning that people have opened up the products and compared the innards. Different opamps in Bifrost or Modi if I remember correctly...- ZoNtO

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
It’s weird that if that’s the case it took 100 hours to present. Maybe you were listening to source material that had more dynamic range or wasn’t super compressed for the first 100. Don’t forget to turn off the Roon compensation now that you’ve figured out the real problem.- ZoNtO

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
What other sources have you used with them and did you notice the same phenomenon? I ask because I've used an Yggdrasil Analog 1 and now Analog 2 for eight years with my Magnepan 1.6QR and haven't needed the resistors. Considering comparing the MIB and/or LIM as well just to see.- ZoNtO

I don’t think it’s fair for you to make claims about transparency when Schiit has posted the full specs on its website: https://www.schiit.com/products/mjolnir-3 AND made the full measurements available for your perusal on that page as well, as they typically do...- ZoNtO

Nitsch DSHA-3FN / ECP DSHA-3F Impressions
Appreciate the response. Yes, I am seriously contemplating having Schiit port my old Yggdrasil into a new "+" chassis and upgrade the A2 cards to the MIB cards so I can compare them. I think I read in the main Schiit thread that someone who found their B&W speakers with diamond tweeters...- ZoNtO

Nitsch DSHA-3FN / ECP DSHA-3F Impressions
For others that are familiar with the OG ECP DSHA-3F and/or the Nitsch DSHA-3FN, other than the Topping D90 mentioned above, what have others found to be good solid-state DAC pairings with the amp when used with Focal headphones? I'm beginning to think that the Yggdrasil A2/OG that I've used to...- ZoNtO

I agree that the OG variant is good with Maggies, but I disagree that Maggies are neutral and have a flat frequency response. I've owned the 1.6QR for 8+ years and they are definitely not neutral. Stereophile agrees: (source) See also their LRS measurements: (source) I think the reasons...- ZoNtO

Today I learned a new word. Twee means "affectedly or excessively dainty, delicate, cute, or quaint." (source) Sounds like that comment was from Mike. @Jason Stoddard, anything more you can share about what the current thinking is with respect to the ultimate Yggdrasil and how...- ZoNtO

Seems right. There is no microprocessor in this amp (old skool) so nothing to run a post turn-on operations check, and I assume no relays either.- ZoNtO

Thanks for the impressions. Re: the XLR jack, have you personally experienced any issues relating to PCB flex or anything? Or does it just seem flimsier than other amps you've used with an XLR jack?- ZoNtO

Schiit Mjolnir 3 - Impressions Thread
The power supply is an important component, but let’s not forget the output stage here. 16 output transistors per channel is completely crazy for a headphone amp. Most speaker amps have nowhere near that many. This amp has more in common with my Coda speaker amp than most headphone amps. Edit...- ZoNtO

Focal Utopia General Discussion
For those that have used the Utopias for an extended period, what have you found to be the best solid state amp to pair with if? I’m still searching for a solid state amp to use with Utopias and my Schiit Yggdrasil Analog 2. Have tried in-home the Ragnarok v1.5, Ragnarok 2, Jotunheim 2, Asgard...- ZoNtO

NEW - Schiit Asgard 2
Sounds like you could have a mild ground loop given the noise goes away completely with certain actions. Could try routing your RCA cables away from power cables, moving the amp away from other gear with transformers, amd trying different well-constructed RCA cables to confirm.- ZoNtO

Do you hear the same noise on low gain mode as well if you turn the volume knob up so the signal was the same level as it was in high gain mode? With those headphones, low gain is a much better match just based on specs.- ZoNtO
