Yggy MIB 75 hrs in, major high frequency tilt. Probably need the resistors for my Maggies for the first time. Ugh. Hate burn in.

What other sources have you used with them and did you notice the same phenomenon? I ask because I've used an Yggdrasil Analog 1 and now Analog 2 for eight years with my Magnepan 1.6QR and haven't needed the resistors. Considering comparing the MIB and/or LIM as well just to see.

Have used a bluesound node, mytek brooklyn and now yggy. I suspect this is just a burn in phenomenon. I have heard this referred to as the shouty stage. My guess is that it will go away in another 100 hours or so. Playing 1.7i on mye stands. The resistors brought significant relief. I was going to turn it down and go watch, tv. The resistors are nice in a pinch, but this is not sustainable. Sand cast resistors suck.

What's the best option for adding a headphone to a Yggdrasil/Loki Max/Freya+ stack? Can I plug it into the rear outputs of the Freya? Should I hang a Magni+ in between them?
If those three are connected in that order, I'd put the headphone amp on the RCA out of the Loki. This would keep the volume controls for headphones and speakers fully separate.

It's a 2017 recording... and what's wrong with music of the past? Is the majority contemporary music better?

According to Tidal it's from 1977, and I do believe that's correct.

I have the vinyl around the house somewhere. I remember when I purchased it back in the day. :) Oh well.

... what are you waiting for? ...
Just seeing this now….

Right?? Not the time, unfortunately. Once my wife’s new windshield and tires are taken care of, and I replace my car. If it’s still available in 3 weeks I’ll leap at it, but I expect it will be gone. Priorities…

You're a professional that can bring him back from the dead.
Buy a little earthquake monitor and calibrate the Richter output by dropping the weight of your father to the floor a few times.
Connect its alarm signal to your audio.
Easy listening after that.
The doctor will be fine but will the patient survive the procedure?!

I was not familiar with her, but I see she did an album of covers of Leonard Cohen songs (“Famous Blue Raincoat”) in 1987. I’m listening to the title song right now. Worth exploring her music. I like her voice. - Although she does something that is a bit of a pet peeve of mine where if the singer is the opposite sex of the original “narrator” of the song, some lyrics are changed to fit. I liked that Tori Amos did the same song but did not change any lyrics and even included the tag “Sincerely L. Cohen” at the end.

It is a little odd though - “Joan of Arc” is sung as a duet and when the guy starts singing my first reaction was “who is this guy… he really can’t sing” before I realized it was Leonard Cohen. 😂

Dan Clark seems super cool. I’d love another pair of his phones.
I think at this point I'm probably done buying headphones, but if I did, it's probably between Dan Clark and ZMF. Have been checking out the ZMF November b stock sale at the moment.
