Well, I kind of stumbled upon her on last fm and listened to a couple of songs which was enough to get me to go to the shop and buy her album. Money well spent. It's a fantastic album mixing delicate piano and voice with more modern electronical sounds and big bass impact (in many tracks)...

Could fixing your HD205s be a possible solution? I pretty sure you could find somewhere that would re-attach the mini jack for a couple of quid (you can buy a new jack for a few pounds if it's broken).

Would I be able to sneak in a couple of Qs here? I'm looking (like the OP) for some headphones that offer a combination of great imaging, soundstage and transparency. I'm a bit of a headphone newbie (helped by the definition glossary!), will strengths in the attributes above give fantastic...

Thanks again energie, I'll see how much of the price I can split with my GF (bday present ) but the bijous look to be a good contender to the denons. With regards to the over ear wire, I wear glasses and don't find the wires that comfortable.

I just made an order for the Custom 1s at £18 But think I may go for the denons also. If I can get a good deal on the 700s I'll go for them, otherwise I think the 551s will do me fine. (just had a big read of the 700 comparison thread - thanks to all that posted there)

I'm afraid they're still way over budget - the pound's not what it used to be... I've just discovered the Denon AH-C452 for ~£60 they have a 11.5mm driver...I guess they fit in between the 351 and 551. I'm thinking they've aimed it at bigger bass with the bigger driver? .don't really know...

Hi, Sorry to start yet another "help me choose" thread. I've had a huge search+reading session on a selection of IEMs. What I'm looking for is a IEM for around £50 with big punchy bass, fairly warm and a slight rolloff on the highs. I will be using them with an iPod + .wav music files...

Hi, sorry if this has been asked loads, I had a search but didn't have much luck. I've got some music in ACC and I'm wondering if there's any point converting it to .wav? Surely it can't re-create the original wave file?? cheers

Cheers mojo, I actually use it because of my iPod...I had to update it and kinda just stuck. Is it just the playback that is worse quality? I've imported a lot of through iTunes...

ah, thanks MisterX, didn't realise. Would I have to use winamp to make use of the kernal streaming? I guess ASIO is the way to go with iTunes?
