Played Skyrim with the X2s for the first time last night... holy moly! Getting hit with a warhammer never sounded so good!

I like my X2s so much that I'm putting my beloved HD650s on eBay today! I just don't see where they'll get use anymore - the X2s really hit the spot for me!

It's because the M50s have an unnatural high-end to make it seem more detailed. IMO, anyway.

Remember on any Internet forum, the squeaky wheel makes the most noise. Those with problems justifiably will yell about it - those who don't usually keep silent. I wouldn't worry about it.

Yeah, that's the only analog output. The DAC of the iDevices measures extremely flat on both ends of the audible range.

Well, you can always run a cable from it to the O2 (it's what I do with my HD650s). It's not portable, though.

You don't need it to. The X2 is a 32-ohm phone, portable devices are more than enough to power it.
