  Yeah, Vali 2 is making the X2 too warm.  Polaris brought it out more but the vocals still a bit hollow sounding for me.  Maybe I'm too used to the Senn's mids.

 
I have yet to find a headphone with as natural sounding excellent mids as my Senns.

I agree with you, as long as it sounds great on your ears, who needs those scientific gibberish? My X2 sounds really sweet on my Little Dot Mkiii with Mullard tubes.

I would give it a few more hours (if you believe in burn in). However, i don't really find x2 to have a really wide soundstage. What's your source?

yeah. give it a few more hours cooking. Mine have been in service for a year now so its now more stretched out a bit. For me X2 is not my soundstage king but plugged in to my tube amp, its really addicting.

Brain burn in could help. Keep listening to them, most find the X2 to have a pretty large soundstage.  They are pretty easy to drive, your e17k should be fine.

Aye, and most of the returns are caked in saliva because people have been greedily slurping up that delicious glue. Order some Purell. Or, you know, you could just enjoy the way they sound. Especially half off!
