Like this: http://mp4nation.net/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=51&products_id=447 I ordered the M1s. For $29.50 delivered worldwide I just had to. Others are on special too but to me this seemed the best deal- ddoingwell

Need advice on my first decent IEMs
Quote: Agreed 10000%. Now, please SOMEONE help me find the next step in decent, affordable (for a middle-aged pro musician and his painterly artist wife) IEMs. Thank you and Amen- ddoingwell

Advice needed on a decent portable.
Really, make sure you TRY ON the Fostex before buying them. Pro Audio shops will have'em and will probably have a demo set of the models you're considering. The Fostex have what I'd call a design flaw with the earcups pressing on the user's earflaps. I couldn't get rid of mine fast enough. Watch...- ddoingwell

Need advice on my first decent IEMs
I've sent the Visangs to a trusted friend with great ears; he'll assess if it's a fit issue though you're probably right. I've tried ever tip I could get my hands on to no avail. So far I'd say of my limited experiences, the AKG K324s are the winner here but I'm still hungry for better...- ddoingwell

SHURE SRH440 + portable AMP
Have a look at this amp from fellow Head-fi type DIY-er and all-round great bloke Fred_fred2004: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Headphone-amp-TI-chip-Hammond-case-RECHARGABLE-/200528425016?pt=AU_Electronics_Audio_Amplifiers&hash=item2eb06cf038 I've bought two of these and I love them...- ddoingwell

Advice needed on a decent portable.
I had the Fostex T50RP model and sold them on quickly. They weren't as good as the Shure SRH440s nor my AKG K240s. Uncomfortable too as the earcups weren't thick enough to keep the drivers from occasionally touching my ears. I've heard the ATH-M50s in a studio and they're very detailed for...- ddoingwell

Advice needed on a decent portable.
I did think of something else after re-reading your query: the Shure SRH440s are good, the SHR840 are a bit better and the Audio Technica ATH-M50 are magnificent. Depends on your tastes. There probably isn't much that'll come close to the K701s in detail though.- ddoingwell

Advice needed on a decent portable.
Feeling frustrated by the lack of support/help you've received thus far? Me too; I posed a similar question recently and got next to nowhere. Actually I did buy something someone recommended and it was a horrible decision. I have the K240s and they're wonderful but not what you're looking for as...- ddoingwell

Need advice on my first decent IEMs
OK...a few weeks later now. I bought some ViSang RO2s and I am VERY DISAPPOINTED. Hollow, harsh sound with almost no bass at all. I was gifted a set of AKG K324s in the interim and they're so much better I want to scream. Still though, I was really wanting so much more. Even a $9 pair of Philips...- ddoingwell

Need advice on my first decent IEMs
OK...THANK YOU. Now we're getting somewhere. Thanks for the info on ViSang ljokerl . Yes, I was referring to the VSonic R02Pro-II. The four models I mentioned are all available to me in Aussie, though the VSonic comes from reputable on-line seller Headphonic in Perth. The other...- ddoingwell

Need advice on my first decent IEMs
Hiya. Never thought I'd see the day...I'm about to purchase my first set of decent IEMs after finally and reluctantly buying my first portable player. The choices available to me and within my meager budget are: Klipsch Image S4, Philips SHE9800, Denon AH-C551, and VSonic...- ddoingwell

New Audio Technica ATH-T500
Looks good, pics clearly show a headphone that's not really aimed at casual listener. More commentary will be interesting and your comments about the sound could be elaborated on please. How is sound isolation from outside noise?- ddoingwell

Looking for a portable amp under $200.00
Yup, the Fred_fred2004 amps are fabulous and really any cMoy that's decently built will give an iPod a substantial quality bump. The thing is, most common bit-rate files don't usually deserve any better. Neither do portable headphones.- ddoingwell

Looking for a portable amp under $200.00
There's a really great bloke from DownUnder who makes fantastic, inexpensive amps, ships them everywhere and is very easy to deal with. He's a Head-fi type too, a member of the trade who sells stuff on eBay. Here's a link to his Feedback page on eBay as he sells amps all the time so sending you...- ddoingwell

Any commentary on the FiiO E7?
Just curious about this device. Any good? Wolfson DAC chips have a great rep so I'm wondering if the FiiO E7 is a toy worth considering. Better than Nuforce Icon? On par? Anywhere near a Meier? Thanks.- ddoingwell

Looking for DIY builders!
I suggest you contact fred_fred2004. He's in Australia and builds superb little amps for prices that will impress. I've bought 3 amps from him in the last year-plus, each different, each fantastic; he made me a silver interconnect too. Brilliant. And a stand-alone cross-feed. The 18Volt RA-1...- ddoingwell

Bookshelf / Standmount Speaker Decisions
I have the Quad 12L passive speakers and love them so much I bought two sets. Speakers, probably even a bit more than headphones are a completely subjective choice. So many more things affect the sound and your reaction to the music. Your room, speaker placement, components, source, bit-rate on... -
Help please: HD555 v k240 v dtx800/900 v dt440 v ad700
Personally, the AKG K240S are my "desert island" headphones; if I were marooned on a desert island and could only have one set of headphones in the whole world, I'd have these. More fun than the AD700s by light years, comfortable, a bit congested sometimes but very musical. In good conscience, I...- ddoingwell

Which way to go, ATH-AD700 or Philips HP910
In my experience, the AD700s were only bettered by the Philips in model SHP9000, all things considered. The 910s had more impact...much more impact and lost a bit in soundstage to the AD700s. As for the AKG K240S, they do not need an amp but every good headphone benefits from a dedicated amp...- ddoingwell

Which way to go, ATH-AD700 or Philips HP910
Since you seem to have reached your decisions in right and perfect ways, I'll just toss this bit in: I have had all the Philips top models and they are all GREAT value for $$$ and to this day, one of my faves is the SHP9000. The money being asked for the 910s your indicated is fair considering...- ddoingwell

SS amp for AKG K701
I've read other K701/amp threads that mention the Shanling PH100; any love for that amp here? Once, some time ago, I posted a question regarding affordable amps for my K501s and mrarroyo mentioned a heavily modded JayCar kit amp from Aussie; no mention of that here...? Accepting that the...- ddoingwell

Looking for a SMALL DAC/Amp ~$100
I don't know anything about HD650s so maybe I'm way off but I'm using a HotAudio40 DAC Destroyer right now with my fussy K501s and really enjoying the experience. The cost? About $75US delivered. Again, I have no experience with the HD650s. Good luck. Don- ddoingwell
