AKG K501 instead of HD600
I haven't touched my HD600's since the day the K501's came in from the UPS guy. I used the HD600's for classical music but they were replaced by the 501's. The 501's haven't really convinced me with rock, electronica and the like, so I rather use my grado's instead. My vote would go for the...- Silvain

K400 vs K500 vs K501 vs K 601
This thread is interesting because I've always read that the soundstage in the K500/K501's were absolutely greater than the K701, but I see here that you compare them to the K601's which are considered to be a poor man's K701. If one has the HD600's and is looking for another different...- Silvain

The Best portable Close headphones ever???
The ESW-9's don't isolate very well at all but they don't leak very much so you can use them in libraries and other quiet environments. Sound is great when amped. If you don't amp it, you're going to experience weak mid's and slightly bloated bass. On a personal note, I don't like how the...- Silvain

I finally understand the awesomeness of Grado headphones.
That fuzzy sound that you experienced with the HD-595's are probably the Sennheiser Veil that is part of the Sennheiser Sound. I like switching between my HD-600's and SR-225 for different kinds of music.- Silvain

Anything better than my current setup?
Yeah, you should wait until there are some comparisons between the ESW-9 and the IEMs that were recommended in this thread before you splurge on $1000 IEM's.- Silvain

Looking for a headphone
I'm also looking for classical music orientated headphones but not as large as a budget as yours. The main headphones that I were looking at were, the W5000 and the AD2000. I still have to do some research on stax headphones.- Silvain
