Just completed my portable/office rig today!

iPod Classic 160GB -> Corda 2MOVE -> Ety ER-4S (portable) / Ultrasone HFI-650 (office).

Just bought some 9V batteries for the 2MOVE today, plugged in the iPod and Etys, and it's easily the best portable rig I've ever had. The other portable amps I've had were the original Total Bithead (which I still have) and the original PortaCorda. I've had the Etys for six years or so now.

This is where it's at.

New mp3 player (still deciding on model and size [phyiscal and storage])->Amp (only if my pc amp is portable and only when i actually feel like hauling it)->IEMs (likely er6i)

Home:
PC->Alien Dac (Home built from jeff)->Amp (likely soha or mini3 v2 (still deciding if i want tubes or not which is based on headphones))->Headphones (HD555, AD700 or possibly K601 (if i can get them at 150 or less)

Both rigs will start from ground zero.

Probably gonna build a home rig first, i dont do much critical listening on the go.

What I intended to have:
XPS m1210 --> DLIII --> Bada PH-12 --> k701/325i

And after the PH-12 busted within the first ten minutes, I said "What the Hell... what's another $500 (plus $300 for a recable)" and decided to go balanced.

Hopefully before the month is out:

XPS m1210 --> DLIII --> Desktop Balanced --> apuresound balanced k701 + stock 325i

I see my initial amp failure as a blessing in disguise, but it unfortunately (wallet-wise) led me to the world of expensive balanced amps.
