Is it common for people to start listening to music at lower volume once they start getting better gear? It's not even because of the isolation because my room is fairly quiet but with the TF10s I'm listening to classical at 18% volume on my pc and it's perfectly fine. I like to listen loud too.

Mine just arrived. Much more detailed than what I used to use, the Shure E2Gs. Hearing cymbals clearly for the first time in songs I've listened to hundreds of times before. Not sure if it necessarily translates into more enjoyment for rock/pop but the technical improvement is obvious.

Yeah it'd be nice if companies would stick a good oldschool sennheiser pc151 style mic on their AD700/900, DT880, AKG 701/702.

The AD700s and 900s are extremely comfortable for me. They rest lightly on your head because of the wingtip designs and the huge velour earpads. So the AKG 701/702 are not as comfortable? How about the DT880s in comparison to the ATs? I'm also trying to decide between the AKGs and AD900s...

Afaik, the DT770s are more bass-heavy than the DT880s.
