Boy, do I feel sheepish now! Sorry, that's what happens when you're typing and can't keep your eyes open. ;) Title edited, and of course I meant earbuds. Thanks for any advice you could give me.- jhumur

Which $100 earphones, you think?
Well, I have set my sights one a pair of sub-100 phones. So, far, I have chosen on these two: HiFiMAN RE-400 Sennheiser CX 985 Steelseries FLUX Pro I prefer warm, musical sound. Clarity and a broad soundstage are also important. At the moment, I am leaning towards the RE-400. I would...- jhumur

MEElectronics M9P Extended Impressions/Pseudo Review (56k Warning)
I just got mine from Newegg, $8.99+FS. For that price, I find them impressive. There is a certain airiness, and detail, that I wouldn't have expected from something at this price point.- jhumur

Alternative to Vsonic VSD1S...something with a MIC
So, after much reading, I thought I had picked out the earbuds I would like to buy this X-Mas...the Vsonic VSD1S. I am not a basshead, and I also have a low tolerance for excessively bright highs. I prefer a more precise sound, and a good soundstage. I'm trying to stay close to $50, give or take...- jhumur

The Monoprice MP9927 PG 208.. MP8320 (MEP-933)..The $7.11 club..
I just took my Monoprice 8230 out after a long time of listening to them. They sound a little shrill at the top end. Anyone notice this?- jhumur

Quote: I'm looking at the Comply website. They have 4 different models for the T-series tips. I can't tell any differences between the models. The specs seem to to be the same for all of them. So, what gives? How do I know which ones to get? I am leaning towards buying the Comply tips.- jhumur

The Monoprice MP9927 PG 208.. MP8320 (MEP-933)..The $7.11 club..
Could someone point out where I might buy a set of tips? I have had the 8320 for almost a year, but hardly use it anymore for the simple reason that it won't sit in my ears. They just keep falling off. Can't inset them far enough for a good seal, before the big, ugly, tractor-wheel of a body...- jhumur

The Monoprice MP9927 PG 208.. MP8320 (MEP-933)..The $7.11 club..
On Dec 2, 7:59PM, I made a post saying that the Monoprice 8230 availability date was sliding. Twenty minutes later, just as I was finishing my post, it became available. Talk about being there just at the right time! So, I jumped on it, ordered a 8233 as well (for comparison purposes) and some...- jhumur

A worthy replacement for the MylarOne X3
I owned a pair of Crossroads MylarOne X3 for about 2 years. I loved those headphones; loved the sound they made...so much so that I reached for the X3s before the ATH-ES7 or even the Grado SR60. Then, about a year ago, I fried the headphones by turning the volume up on my laptop all the way, not...- jhumur

The Return of the Grado
HI, I bought a pair of Grado SR60 in the mid-nineties. The first time I heard them, plugged into my audio system, I swear they brought tears to my eyes. I had never heard sound so expansive, so well-defined. (My experience with audiophile-quality sound then, as now, was limited.) But, I...- jhumur

Are my Crossroads Mylar Ones Blown?
I had the earphones plugged into my laptop the other night. Not realizing the phones were plugged in, I cranked up the volume on my laptop to hear something- basically, using my earphones like speakers. I think I had the volume turned all the way up! OUCH! Since then, I have noticed a couple of...- jhumur
