lol. i'm gonna stock up too. can't go wrong with these $7 gems for all-around use. mostly for the gym
biggrin.gif
.. only good iems can give you that 'boost' in the gym

Do stock up! They are better than just to use at the gym. But as you may have experienced,  they do need better tips and with almost any amp with some kind of a bass boost they become a true gem!

These have a fun sound signature, but they're far from being "Hi-Fi" headphones.

I really don't think anyone's looking for HI-FI phones' for $7.

Since you guys are throwing in TF10 to the mix, here's my rankings with Monoprice 8320, UE TF10, Brainwavz M1, Brainwavz B2, Xears TDII.

Fit&Comfort
B2>>M1=TDII>>TF10>8320

Bass quantity. (more does not necessarily mean better)
TDII>TF10>>8320=M1>>>>B2

Bass quality
TF10>B2>8320>>M1>>TDII
TF10 has awesome bass, B2 is great but no impact at all, TDII has most impact but it is boomy.

Mids
TDII>B2>M1=>TF10=8320

Highs
TDII>TF10>8320>B2>M1

Sibilance (less is better)
          M1<<TDII<<8320=TF10<<<<<<B2
|---what sibilance?--|-energetic highs-|-unbearable--

Timbre
TF10>>TDII>B2>8320=M1

Total headtime.
|---------------TF10------------|---------TDII-----|--M1-|8320|B2|
This one is completely my personal preference/mood.

8320 $7.11+$2 shipping,
unbeatable price/performance ratio, nice bass texture but slightly odd highs and awkward fit
with proper fit I could see someone paying $35 if it came with better tips and selection

TF10 $150~$200
best overall bass, good impact without sounding boomy, slightly recessed mids, fit is hit or miss, cords are super heavy
don't think it's worth the $200+ pricetag, I'd pay $120

B2 $130
too much informatiooon! more detail than you want with plenty of sssibilance, bass is nonexistent, smallest IEM of the bunch

great for monitoring but not for musical enjoyment, as a secondary IEM for monitoring/tracking worth $100, as your only IEM $50

TDII $42+$11 shipping
widest soundstage with the mose depth of the bunch but also has the largest inner radius, nothing sounds closer than 3 inches outside your head, boomy bass, reports of high failure rates, I'd pay $50. If it didn't break as often I'd pay $70

M1 $35
darkest IEM of the groop, non-fatiguing, very laidback
I'd pay $30

yeah, that's about it

Now Monoprice is saying 12/26

Seems like they really have no idea and this date isn't really an indication of anything.

Thanks for your informative and level-headed assessment. Very much appreciated.

Out of these I've heard the Brainwavz B2 and Xears TDII, so I'm able to get a pretty good idea of the 8320 from your comparisons. By that measure some of the earlier claims in this thread seem pretty overblown. jm2c.

These aren't hi fi but they sound great for casual listening and does electronica, trance, hiphop, heck everything I have actually just fine.  I listen to them on the way home from work every day on my portable rig and they are awesome.. Last time I bought a cheapo it didn't have half the sound on the 8320. I use those for the gym to watch sports center with. The value for little spent is great only if they get more in. I am disappointed about that new ship date..

These 8320 sound too open too me.  I am not sure if that means it's got large sound stage.
And at the same time, the bass doesn't hit hard enough for me, so everything sound a little thin and cold.
Not really my cup of tea.  Well, taste is subjective.

That is exactly how I heard them when they didn't fit my left ear correct with the stock tips.. Just like that.

Oh wait. They are available now.!. Grab em if you want to try em. Get them while they last. Give them a proper burn in. I am thinking the highs get much better with a longer burn. I have no issues with the highs at all on my pair and I think I have a good 100 hours over anyone else on use on these easily if not more. I listen to them all the time actually and the highs are no where near hot or crazy spiky or anything of the sort. DING! DING!!
