Computer heat possibly damaging headphone jack?

Hey guys,   I recently bought a pair of ATH-M50's and I've been really enjoying them. However, I've been using them with my computer a lot and I've noticed that the headphone jack tends to get quite hot sometimes. Is this a possible risk to my headphone jack?

    $100 Headphones, Grado, M50s?

Well, it's $120 now, but this site: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/477843-REG/Audio_Technica_ATH_M50_ATH_M50_Professional_Closed_Back_Studio.html   Think I'm gonna go with those, again thanks everyone for the info and suggestions.

    $100 Headphones, Grado, M50s?

Haha, I'm getting some mixed opinions. I'm honestly frozen with indecision right now, though I'm a little inclined to go for the Grados at this point, but I'm still very skeptical of the leakage. Can anyone else testify as to how much these headphones leak? At low volumes, would it be suitable...

    $100 Headphones, Grado, M50s?

Hmm, well, Kukuk, what do you think of the M50s vs. Grado SR80s?    And are you sure about the noise leakage? When I'm in the library I play my music at a really low level, but I would hate for it to leak.

    $100 Headphones, Grado, M50s?

Ok I'm sorry to keep bumping this thread but I'm very skeptical about the M50s and DJ100.    For the M50s, I've read too many people talking about the strong bass and how it overpowers mids. However, with the DJ100s, I've heard great sound really only comes out when using an amp, which I...

    $100 Headphones, Grado, M50s?

Oh OK, well thanks for letting me know, I'll stick to the closed headphones then. Still a little stuck between the M50's and the DJ100's, guess I'll just make a decision soon. Appreciate the help everyone.

    $100 Headphones, Grado, M50s?

Well I guess they might not have to be closed air. I use Px-100s quite a bit in the library with lower sounds and it hasnt been a problem. Is there really a big difference between, let's say, Grado S80s and M50's or DJ100's? Enough of a difference to go for open over closed? Because I can just...

    $100 Headphones, Grado, M50s?

So are the M50's not the best for indie/alternative then? That's really the main kind of music I listen to. I've been looking around the and DJ100s seem interesting too, I just can't decide which would be better.

    $100 Headphones, Grado, M50s?

Alright I appreciate the help, I'm definitely leaning towards the M50's then, though Kukuk, do you have a comparison of the M50's and the DJ100's?

    $100 Headphones, Grado, M50s?

Hey guys, so I'm looking to get my first pair of full-size headphones. I've been using PX-100s mainly, and I want something a little better. My budget's around $100, I'd really prefer not going over.   I mainly listen to alternative/indie music, as well as some rock/classic rock, progressive...

In-Ear noise isolation headphones for ~$50

Hey guys, I have a pair of Px-100s and I'm looking for another set of headphones to isolate outside noise. Nothing too fancy, just something around $50. I listen to lots of alternative, rock, indie, etc. I want something pretty even all around, strong bass, nothing particular, just good quality...

    Noise-blocking headphones for 50$

Hey guys, So a while ago I asked around and go my px-100s from here. Great headphones, great price(only problem is mine seem to always break). Anyways, I'm looking for another pair of headphones that block out a lot of sound, as I fly a decent amount and listen to music in other loud...

    Logitech Z-2300

Well as I said, I'm willing to spend a little more, maybe get monitors and a subwoofer. But I do need help if I'm to get that. Again, can anyone suggest good monitors and a good subwoofer for music + games + movies for 100-250?
  14. boo54577

    Logitech Z-2300

So would the monitors I suggested be best? And again, I need suggestions for a subwoofer, as I have no idea where to get one and how much to spend, relative to how much I'm spending on my speakers.

    Logitech Z-2300

Alright Well I'm looking at monitors and I found a couple which might be good. Can anyone confirm? The Studiophile DX4s, Studiophile AV 40 (Both for 150), the StudioPro 3, and the Studiophile AV 20 (both a little cheaper). Would any of these/which of these would be best? Also, where can i get...

    Logitech Z-2300

I listen to mostly alternative I guess, but I also listen to a little bit of metal, and progressive and classic rock. However, I'd like the game sounds to be good as well. But I assume they will be since they are computer speakers.

Is there a big performance difference between the 5.1 and 2.1? And are the swans that much better than the former two?

    Logitech Z-2300

I've thought about it and I think I might just go with computer speakers despite the sound performance decrease. I really don't know much about all this and it's easily possible that I would get stuck with a system that would be worse than a computer speaker system. Not to mention there would be...

    Logitech Z-2300

I'm using an integrated card. Will that make the sound a whole lot worse? In the end, I don't absolutely NEED amazing sound quality, I would just like a good sound system which will let me enjoy music and games. Here's the link to my motherboard...

I was looking through cambridge sound works and I found this system: http://www.cambridgesoundworks.com/s...item=k1pk208zz. This looks comparable to the one ive been using, but since they're my brothers, i cant use them anymore. Would something like this be good? Though I'd rather pay less.

Well as I said, I'm certainly going to be using these speakers for music, and I listen to plenty of it. I've thought about it a little bit and I'll raise my budget to 250-300. At this price, should I still be going with the amp+speaker option, or would computer speakers be good? Can people just...
