There is no any problem in USB itself. It only depends on quality of your source device. Any DDC will improve sound over the regular PC USB output — this is an axiom. But USB is not a PC only. There are lots of purified USB sources. Say for example extremely "cheap" Antipodes OLADRA to...- Boldakov

Basicaly you're right, but never say never. 1. I have crazy good implementation of HQPlayer and it definitely plays better than M-Scaler. 2. And I have good regenerative power plant and AC-cables fo kilo$s and great LPSs that plays better than any batteries I was able to test But in some...- Boldakov

It should be mentioned M-Scaler is not only an upscaling tool (HQPlayer is way better, but much harder to implement it efficiently) but a DDC also.. Any none-trash DDC will improve sound, like some ordinary Denafrips GAIA do with any DAC, and Hugo 2 no exception here.. M-Scaler combines DDC and...- Boldakov

I do not think those who asking here for Hugo 3 are about "rich guys" philosophy.. I suppose it comes from fever for the sound in conjunction with missunderstanding of real potential of Hugo 2 already in their hands.. I mean most of them do not understand — any Hugo 3 in ordinary way will play...- Boldakov

There is no existance of such lift in the nature of things. Hugo 2 can play nothing by itself. It's just a DAC, so it strongly depends on a digital transport. So if you trying to campare one audio system of Blu MK2 + Hugo 2 with another second audio system with Hugo 2, so you should point out a...- Boldakov

We didn't heard each other.. I meant SP2000 is the best portable transport I know to feed the Hugo 2 via USB or Toslink.. Here is the picture attached of how it looks like, and the sound is close to a normal (not portable) setup Here is: Astell&Kern SP2000 >> UAPP >> Synergistic Research...- Boldakov

Yes, and the difference is clearly heard a lot. Just using Hiby RS6 vs SP2000 as a transport to Hugo 2 brings clearly different sound. And the cables are make sence too- Boldakov

Wow!!! I wondering you'are not trying RS8 >> Hugo 2 >> Tsuranagi... I suppose this whould be way beter setup than RS8 >> Tsuranagi I used to use RS8 with Hugo 2, but have switched to SP2000 with Hugo 2 as SP2000 as a transport plays better than RS8 Now I'm thinking to add Tsuranagi over the...- Boldakov

If it is absolutely so — just connect Hugo 2 to PC or Wiim mini and just compare it to an ordinary DDC like Singxer SU-6. You will hear how good this own DPLL inside of Hugo 2 eliminates jitter at all )))- Boldakov

Yes, I went via your link and 😬🤯 The average jitter level, assessed with a 50Hz–100kHz bandwidth, was a relatively low 729.7 picoseconds, though with typical music recordings it averaged 1.6 nanoseconds. Man, it's crazy!! It is in nanoseconds! Not even in picoseconds, not in femtoseconds...- Boldakov

))))) There is no such term "with no jitter" in audio domain))) jitter exists in fact in every digital part of your setup. That's why any superrior DDCs plays different from different sources (streamers), that's why network audiophile wifi bridges makes sound more coherent, that's why digital...- Boldakov

Sorry, I do not listen to Kern itself, I listen to Hugo 2 feeded by kern) I'm using SP2000 as it can handle UAPP and playing to Hugo 2 better than SP3000 (which can't handle UAPP). So you don't need to argue me Hugo 2 playing better than any Astell&kern as I know it on my personal listenings)- Boldakov

Can't see jitter measurements (in femtoseconds) here and how they can be compared even to an ordinary Singxer SU-6 or Denafrips Gaia jitter measurements.. Can't believe this "Wiim mini" box could reach somewere close to normal digital transport.. But I whould be happy for users if they admit...- Boldakov

I have compared 2go+Hugo2 vs SP2k + Hougo 2 But to be honest it strongly depends on USB cable quality With ordinaly labkable 8occ jumper SP2k sounded a little bit better then 2go but with custom 10cm cable (cutted from Synergistic Research Gallileo SX) SP2k outperforms 2go truly-madly-deeply I...- Boldakov

Yes, that's it.. Maybe you will be able to find aftermarket DHC Prion (Chimera is just a next TOTL model after Prion was TOTL for years) way cheaper but still with crazy good effect for SQ- Boldakov

It looks you could also add a stunning DHC Prion or Chimera headphone cable to increase sound greatly (maybe stronger then adding the amp) I use SP2000 with Hugo 2 as it outperforms SP3000 anyway, but still thinking to add Aroma's A100TB with PS100PRO- Boldakov
