The HD650 would be the obvious choice, it displays similar characteristics to the 595 in regards to the Sennheiser sound, but is vastly better in every category especially in the bass department.

Hd650's don't reach their full potential from an iPod, but they certainly do not sound "bad". I hear this said a lot and simply cannot understand it, I think the HD650's sound great from my iPod touch you just have to crank the volume up a bit. Of course they sound a lot better with an amp but...

The adapter you get with the HD595 fits straight onto the end of the cable, and does not have another length of cable in between like the pic above. This makes the connector very long and therefore if you put pressure on the end furthest from the ipod much more stress is put on the ipod...

Thanks Deiz that was a good analogy, I think I would definitely enjoy the Grado sound based on how you described them. So if the iPod is not very good at driving them, I guess I should go for the SR60's as the higher models would be a bit of a waste of money when listening through an iPod?
