A Complimentary Headphone to my HD650?

OK, I've been using my HD650s for nearly 10 years. They are awesome and I love them. What I'm looking for is a similar quality headphone that does something completely different to the HD650. Brands them I'm considering are Beyerdynamic (heard they have great bass?) and AKG (heard they are...

Impulse purchased Momentum on-ears, good decision?

I have literally just ordered them, so I still have time to cancel the order. Been reading Head-Fi theblastnfew hours and seems like they are like marmite.   I have HD650's for home use, so the exaggerated sound sig sounds like a bonus as it will be a good contrast. Im worried about people...

Impulse purchased Momentum on-ears, good decision?

My old Sennheiser IE7's broke last month and I needed something new for on the move, the bus and studying in the library. I am a big fan of Sennheiser and when I saw a blue pair of Momentum on ears for £135 on Amazon I snapped them up quick (sealed, unwanted gift, seller had excellent feedback.)...

Currently I am Using: Sources: PC / iPod Touch 1st Gen / Samsung Galaxy S3 (wolfson Chip) all with .m4a apple lossless files...

    HD 25-1 Confusion..?

Thanks for the info, actually decided to go with the PX200II i for its full iPhone compatibility. I hate having to fish out my phone just to skip a track etc.   Spent the remaining budget on a FiiO E7 amp/DAC which should give a major boost to my Laptop and PC as well. Curious to see how it...

    HD 25-1 Confusion..?

Quick question about the HD 25-1's...   On Amazon there is the HD 25-SP II for £99   http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-HD-25-SP-II/dp/B000TDXPSC/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1300898305&sr=8-3   And the HD 25-1 II for £142  ...

    Grado SR225 Thread

If anyone in Europe is looking to buy SR225's, I found them on Play.com for £150 down from £190. Convinced me to buy them anyway

Looking for the perfect Radiohead setup. Suggestions?

IMO I don't think you can get "The perfect Radiohead set up" with just 1 pair of headphones. Their style varies drastically between albums, The Bends has a lot of acoustic while later albums such as Kid A are very electronic etc. Many of their songs sound great with the laid back style of the...

Is there something like HD595 but only better?

The HD650 would be the obvious choice, it displays similar characteristics to the 595 in regards to the Sennheiser sound, but is vastly better in every category especially in the bass department.

    PX100's to SR60's

I'm looking to upgrade my portable headphones from Sennheiser PX100's to a Grado SR60 or something of similar price point. I already have a decent home set up with HD650's so portable use is the only concern, I'm not looking for anything too expensive or amazing sound, just something that is...

Help me find something that sounds kinda, sorta, but not really like a Senn HD 650 for around $100

Hd650's don't reach their full potential from an iPod, but they certainly do not sound "bad". I hear this said a lot and simply cannot understand it, I think the HD650's sound great from my iPod touch you just have to crank the volume up a bit. Of course they sound a lot better with an amp but...

    SR80, HD595 or something else?

The adapter you get with the HD595 fits straight onto the end of the cable, and does not have another length of cable in between like the pic above. This makes the connector very long and therefore if you put pressure on the end furthest from the ipod much more stress is put on the ipod...

What are your favorite UNAMPED full-size phones?

I have been using HD650's from my iPod Touch, still sounds great to me. I'm sure they are probably 10x better with a good amp but its still really enjoyable to listen to.

Is this good enough for HD650's?

Could some of you inform me of how well this amplifier will drive the Sennheiser HD650's? CR-H255 DAB CD/DAB Receiver with USB The specs say it is a 25 Watt amp, is this any good at all? Thanks,

What are the most comfortable headphones available?

Any of the Sennheiser HD range are really comfy, had quite a few 4 hour+ gaming marathons with the HD595

    Build Quality issue with HD650

Just a few days after getting them they have developed a really annoying squeaky hinge on the right hand side driver, Every time I turned my head left/right it would squeak completely wrecking the quiet parts of my music and can still be heard over even AC/DC at high volumes... I'm totally...

    Some Grado related questions...

OK that saved me a head ache of importing an official Grado adapter! Just so I'm 100% clear, The SR225's will sound good from an iPod But even better and with more bass when I use a decent amp? If so then thats the perfect headphone for what I'm looking for!

    Some Grado related questions...

After reading this thread through again and doing some more reading on the web, I have settled on the SR225's because they will make an excellent partner to my my HD650's due to them being totally different and because they will last me years whereas the SR80's would probably make me want to...

    Some Grado related questions...

Hmm, I think I should wait a little and get the SR225's then. But im also tempted to get the SR80's right now... I could get the SR225's sent from Headroom to the UK for roughly £165 including shipping. They are a well respected retailer I think as well? Or I could get the SR80's from a UK...

    Some Grado related questions...

Thanks Deiz that was a good analogy, I think I would definitely enjoy the Grado sound based on how you described them. So if the iPod is not very good at driving them, I guess I should go for the SR60's as the higher models would be a bit of a waste of money when listening through an iPod?

    Some Grado related questions...

I'm looking at getting one of the lower end Grado's to use with an iPod, I tried my HD650's on the iPod but it was totally impractical as I expected. I have read that the Grado's sound good from an iPod and that they are great for rock music which is what I mainly listen to. My budget is £100...
