Hey, I'm running the era-1 off the Quad Vena II and it's a wonderful experience.

Bright, that's a good way of putting how it sounds to me, Chris. Perhaps I just need to get used to the difference also, with such a big change to my system. I just listened to one of my favourite albums up loud and it was incredible. The echo tho, I can hear across all my records, well the...

Having said all that, the detail through the era-1 is astounding. As I turn the volume up beyond my normal listening level the bass increases and with it louder than I think is an acceptable volume they have come alive again???

I get you, thanks. Yes, I still love the era-1, they are the only headphone for me. I hope I can rectify the difference and have the improvement the new stylus brings. Ok, I see, thanks for that. The 2m blue certainly is more detailed than the previous one. Is there a way I can manipulate the...

I'm plugging them into my quad Vena 2, same with my turntable and speakers.

It's very strange. I've recently upgraded the stylus on my turntable. The sound through my quad speakers is impressive, I'm extremely happy there. The sound through the era-1 isn't so. I'm not great at writing about how it sounds but I'll try. It's like it's too clean, for example the cymbals...

I'm using the dekoni nuggets, I find them to be ideal for my pea head. But you've mentioned you aren't keen on them.

That answers that then. I spent enough chasing better sound, upgrading my turntable and buying expensive speaker cables that I'm happy with at the top of my budget. Could do without another chase. And yes I'm more than happy with the quads as they are. I should stop reading this thread, ha ha.

I've spent the morning reading up on DACs. Wow, what a minefield for the uneducated like me. My quad Vena ii has a built in dac ess sabre. What does this mean for me? I don't really have a clue lol. My era-1 sound great. So do I really need to chase anything else?

This thread is fascinating. I love reading it. @Anatman you are putting thoughts in my mind with your power quest and I wonder if I can encourage my cans to shine a little more. I know nothing about amps and DACs, I don't even know what a dac is. I listen with the quads in 2 ways...

As in the clamping force on the ears? I have noticed no difference, although I have a pea head my sides are wider so there was always a clamping force for me. I regularly flex the headband to stretch it outwards a little. Very gently but regularly and I feel it is loosening off.

No, I am glad. Because it spurred me on to actually do some tests instead of just sitting looking for something to be not right. But they are right, amazingly good. They are aren't they? 🤣🤣

These cans sound fantastic. I've done all the tests I can and I think I'm imagining it. Mostly. It seems to be just the vocals are slightly to the right above my head. Kinda, It's weird. There is no missing frequencies on the left and no reduction in db. I think I've been looking for an issue...

I have to go out to work now but i just stole 10 minutes to do some testing. I used my secondary source and the quads and my old Sonys. Using the same track everything sounded centered. But oh my goodness, I forgot how good the quads do actually sound when comparing with my old Sonys. I will do...

When I listen with my quads, the music never seems to be exactly centred in my head. It's always just slightly to the right side. It's a great sound still but I'd rather hear it in the middle. Is this the headphones, the cable or my ears?

I am using the quad Vena 11. I love it, I'd say you'll be impressed. Although it's the only amp I've ran my era-1 thru so can't compare to how it sounds thru others.

What am I thinking. These cans are going nowhere. They just sound far too good. A break every so often will loosen the pressure. Ps loving your last few posts @Anatman

Ive had to stop using the velour pads, they are hurting the bottom of my ears which are obvs just a smidge to big for these pads. The leather pads put too much pressure on my head on longer listening sessions which are pretty much every night. I'm thinking about moving on the quads which is a...

My ears just fit and no more, they fill the whole space. I felt something brush my ear last night, is that the driver moving then? Taking the pressure off is a big plus, I really enjoyed my music last night. I'll give the velour pads a good bit of listening time then switch back to hear the...
