:) Well, I appreciate the clarification, this does work. Still way too many taps (compared to the XM4) for my liking, but still less than what I thought it would be. Thanks - Bazaar

Anyone else try this (successfully)? Tried it this weekend, incl. w/ the app open and just watched the noise canceling toggle on/off w/ the single tap; on the right bud it didn't do anything. This was immediately tapping 4 times, then tapping 1 time.- Bazaar

This is very interesting, I will have to try it. TBH I didn't see that in manual/tutorial... Curious then, when do you use the noise canceling? That's a pretty noisy environment on your bike. For me, I find the noise canceling sound 'richer'; when NC is off, I find the sound a bit 'tinny'.- Bazaar

Same here, related to my annoyance w/ turning ANC on/off easily by touching the left bud, when they're in my hand, etc. Hard to tell whether it's on/off when I re-insert them in my ear.- Bazaar

Totally agree w/ the 'maybe too small' point...I was thinking the same thing. My ears aren't big, prob avg or just below avg. Thx for the CP100 tip suggest, I will research those.- Bazaar

Sony WF-1000XM5
After a few days use, a new annoyance is when I'm taking them off/on say going into my gym, coffee shop, etc. and they're either loose in my hand, or pocket, etc., I'm finding I turn the ANC off a lot (must be that single tap). And since the seal isn't as good as my XM4 to block the ambient...- Bazaar

I do, thanks. I actually like the ANC mike gold protrusion on the XM4 better...gives me something to 'find' and push on to apply pressure. I may actually scuff up the finish w/ some 1000 grit paper :triportsad:. One nice touch is the little bump on the left bud, makes it easy to distinguish...- Bazaar

My first couple of days w/ the XM5s...largely echo what others have posted: Also not a fan of the glossy finish; discovered the tip posted by assassin10000, pushing them outwards a bit to extract from the case does help. I used the eartip utility in the app to size mine; last night it...- Bazaar

Very encouraging, as I'm def not a basshead...I like to 'hear' the bass, not feel it thumping in my ears/head. Ordered mine last Wed - initially 8/4, then Sun, now arriving tomorrow (Sat).- Bazaar

totally agree on the bass...for me being able to 'hear' the bass vs. 'feel' it, is a huge plus. The V281 sure does make an improvement. Ha ha, I think you're right 👍- Bazaar

I tried my RME w/out the V281 as I was contemplating selling it. While the RME sound was 'good' (left my 800s custom EQ alone), when I went back to the 281 I saw a marked increase in warmth, soundstage/depth, etc. that I think I'll just keep the V281.- Bazaar

I have both...prefer the 800S by far for its better sound stage and accuracy. I really haven't used my 660s for a long time, and will probably sell.- Bazaar

Steven Wilson remixes
Sure was…also liked his Tears for Fears & Roxy Music work. I was intrigued to read he only thinks this work takes up “to a fifth of his working life”; I would think it takes a LOT more time given all the time spent initially listening to the recordings to cull from. -

Totally agree with you. I’ve settled into a custom setting that sounds good to my ears, and have just left it there, across a wide spectrum of music (everything but rap & opera). I should probably tinker with it a bit but not sure I really want to bother.- Bazaar

I see this as well…extremely annoying as you don’t find out until you pop them in at the gym and the bud fails….I have started to doublecheck the seating before I head to the gym so at least I get a 60-70% charge.- Bazaar
