Hugo TT 2 by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
I think you like a lot of us have tried many cans only to keep finding something missing... that's what drives the hobby. It may be that you need several cans to have everything you're looking for. From what you have said though I think you should give LCD-4's a listen. I love mine and is seems...- Jvincent

Audeze LCD-4
If you are suspicious at all I would wait. Used LCD-4's at the 2k price come around pretty often. A good LCD-4 is well worth 2k though.- Jvincent

Audeze LCD-4
I purchased and used the reveal+ stuff in other programs (JRiver) and unless I was using the program incorrectly... I really wasn't impressed with the results... As far as I know you cannot use VST3 plugins with ROON so if you wanted to play with it you would have to use another program to do so.- Jvincent

Audeze LCD-4
The Reveal plugin is a VST3 plugin that works with other applications. ROON already has Audeze presets that are the same thing as the Reveal Plugin. In your DSP settings inside ROON you can add the Audeze presets, select LCD-4, then while still in the Audeze presets towards the bottom of the...- Jvincent

I was going to do the same with mine but with a lot of shippers are no longer implimenting signature required due to covid-19 I'm cautious to and may wait until all this blows over... just a heads up.- Jvincent

Audeze LCD-4
Next time you are in roon go to your DSP settings, Audeze presets, LCD-4 then at the bottom of the screen in blue is a Customize button. set the Mix to 100% wet, and change the filter to Audeze Linear. It adds a Short delay when starting music to do all the processing but I believe it makes a...- Jvincent

Audeze LCD-4
I must have pushed the filters a bit harder than intended earlier... the lcd-4 without the filters is still an amazing headphone, I would still own it if the filters weren't out, I just think it makes the headphone better.- Jvincent

Audeze LCD-4
In my opinion all LCD headphones have some tonal timbre issues... some more so than others. I own a pair of LCD-4's and find that the reveal plugin helps to alleviate this on the 4's. Running reveal at 100% wet really does a great job of making all instruments sound natural. If possible I would...- Jvincent

If I couldn't hear it then I wouldn't care. But depending on the rest of your chain (if youre buying a $2k+ DAC then im guessing its pretty decent) you can definitely hear noise. It's very apparent.- Jvincent

That's not quite how noise works... any conductor or resistor creates noise. And there are plenty of those in any electronic system.- Jvincent

Any and all reviews should be taken with a grain of salt... its someone else listening with different ears than your own for different things than you would. You wont know anything for certain until you do it yourself. If you're interested order the unison board (its pretty cheap all things...- Jvincent

I have only compared the spdif to unison briefly as I usually am running this through my pc via usb... that being said when I set the yggy up with my living room 2.0 system I still preferred unison over spdif. for $150 I would still say it is a worthwhile improvement to justify upgrading.- Jvincent

Meze EMPYREAN - the First Isodynamic Hybrid Array Headphone
I listen to quite a bit of metal and find the empy's to be fantastic for it! I haven't listen to the Abyss so i cant compare the two but from my own listening of the LCD-4 vs Empy (these were the 2 headphones I demo'd quite a bit and landed with the empy) The LCD-4 will provide more details in...- Jvincent

I installed the unison card this weekend and got some listening time in. Here are some thoughts: Unison USB is much better than Gen5 (honestly can a usb card make this big of a difference?) I did not have my yiggy pre gen5 so I'm not sure what the jump to Gen5 was like but this is considerable...- Jvincent

The only issue I had ergonomics wise was that the clamping force was a tad too much.. and the colors are going to vary.. I've seen some I Liked and some I really didn't. you can custom order your colors etc... as far as the cable termination... yeah.. we can all agree that was a blunder- Jvincent
