I purchased and used the reveal+ stuff in other programs (JRiver) and unless I was using the program incorrectly... I really wasn't impressed with the results... As far as I know you cannot use VST3 plugins with ROON so if you wanted to play with it you would have to use another program to do so.

I must have pushed the filters a bit harder than intended earlier... the lcd-4 without the filters is still an amazing headphone, I would still own it if the filters weren't out, I just think it makes the headphone better.

That's not quite how noise works... any conductor or resistor creates noise. And there are plenty of those in any electronic system.

He is talking about all the electronics going on in any digital device (the motherboard etc)... they create noise in an electrical circuit that can be heard through audio equipment...

I have only compared the spdif to unison briefly as I usually am running this through my pc via usb... that being said when I set the yggy up with my living room 2.0 system I still preferred unison over spdif. for $150 I would still say it is a worthwhile improvement to justify upgrading.
