    Andromeda Cable Recommendations

Hi everybody, I'm looking for a new cable for my Andromedas. There's nothing wrong with the stock cable, I just don't like the angled plug. I've never bought an aftermarket cable before, and would like to find something durable, my budget is about $100. Just looking for a good quality, durable...

    IEMs under 500$

From what I understand the CK is the newer version with some improvements. Its the one I have.

    IEMs under 500$

Then I can wholeheartedly recommend the campfire orion. As I said the mids are excellent, and the bass is nice and accurate. The treble is very relaxed and smooth. They are $349 US, and can still be bought off the Alo Audio website. Plus they are built like tanks and come stock with a litz cable.

    IEMs under 500$

Orions are less expensive, but have fantastic midrange and are very smooth. Very different signature from what the polaris claims. Do you like a lot of bass?

    IEMs under 500$

Hard for me to say, I haven't actually tried them, I was just making a suggestion based on what I've read. They have both a balanced armature and a dynamic driver in them, which should be good for pop in my opinion. Again, I haven't tried them so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I do have...

Ipod touch 7th gen output impedance

That is excellent news to me! I'm more concerned with the actual sound than the impedance, so this makes me confident enough to give it a shot. Thank you for your help!

Ipod touch 7th gen output impedance

I see in your signature that you use the Ipod touch 7th and the Andromedas, do you like this pairing? Is there any hiss? The reason I ask is I am looking for a portable player with minimal hiss for my Campfire Orions, which have a similar impedance to the Andromedas. I'm attracted to the ipod...

Ipod touch 7th gen output impedance

Interesting, would you mind sharing where you found this? I've read in a couple places that the output impedance of the 6th gen was something like 1.7ohms for the ipod touch.

Ipod touch 7th gen output impedance

Hi all, Just out of curiosity, is anybody on here using the ipid touch 7th gen? If so, has anybody tried with sensitive IEM's or know the output impedance? Thanks!

Sensitive IEM Hiss recommendations, ALO audio RX , IFI IEMatch, IFI Nano idsd BL

Thank you for your suggestion! I'm strongly considering just going for the IEMatch, but I'm a bit torn still - mostly because of the Ifi nano black label. I could also use that one to drive my Oppo pm3's. Does anybody else have some experience with the IEMatch?

    IEMs under 500$

The Andromida is quite expensive though, maybe consider the Polaris from the Campfire line. It is within your budget.

Sensitive IEM Hiss recommendations, ALO audio RX , IFI IEMatch, IFI Nano idsd BL

Hi everybody, I posted a similar thread about this before, but this is a bit of a different question. I have a pair of Campfire Orion's, which have a sensitivity of 114 dB SPL/mW and an impedance of 13.9 ohms. They are mostly used while I am at work or in public transportation. They sound...

DAP or DAC/Amp with low noise floor

Hi everyone, I recently went to a shop looking for some IEM's. I tried a bunch, and fell in love with a pair of new-old-stock Campfire Audio Orions, I instantly fell in love with their smooth, relaxed sound. Great for easy listening. Anyway, as with many other IEM's I've tried, they have a...

    Campfire Audio IO vs Polaris

Hi all, I don't have a lot of posts here but I lurk a bit. I am currently trying to decide between the Campfire Audio IO and Polaris, as I need a portable solution for work. I generally listen to alternative/indie rock, jazz, some folk, classic rock, etc. No EDM or pop or anything in those...

Oppo pm3 and Fiio e17k for my first setup?

I've not listened to them yet, as in my area there is basically no chance of trying any high quality audio equipment, beyond just headphones (instruments, recording gear, stereos, etc). I have read similar things that they are 'vanilla' but I have also read that for some people they are...

Thank you, both the luxman and the speakers were my father's, both were broken! He told me if i could fix them I could have them. Im an electrical engineering student, so I was able to fix the luxman (all the output transistors on the left channel were blown) and the speakers (both woofers were...

Oppo pm3 and Fiio e17k for my first setup?

This is very good to hear, I look forward to listening for the differences! After writing this, I actually found an oppo pm3 in the for sale section of the forum and took the plunge on those, and will cancel the massdrop order! I will edit the original post now as well. Thank you for your...

Oppo pm3 and Fiio e17k for my first setup?

Hello everyone, My name is Joshua Bernstein, I am a college student in at the University of Florida and I am new to the forum. I have been interested in high quality audio my whole life, but generally could not afford anything decent. About 4 years ago I bought the audio-technica m50x's and...

    New Member Introductions thread

Hi there, My name is Joshua and I am new here. I have slowly been working my way to the hi-fi scene, though I have spent most of my time in the guitar equipment arenas. I have (what I consider) a fairly nice home stereo: a mid/late 80's luxman R117 and a pair of phase speakers with interesting...
