I recommend you to try Schitt Freya+ pre in front of AHB2. After having Schitt Freya+ in front of Jot R, it sounds less aggressive and quite enjoyable.

Rogue Cronus Magnum II fitted with Nos tubes(Telefuken 12zx7 and Amperex 12au7) work well with Sr1a with nice texture and tonal balance. It will also work well with most of 2 channel speaker. You may get used Rogue Cronus Magnum II or new Rogue Cronus Magnum III.

I usually use Dave's remote volume. Jot R to max. But Freya's remote volume also work well. I used to use Freya's volume too.

Either from Dave or Freya remote. Jot R does not have remote volume control.

I also have SR1a/Jot R/DAVE and HMS setup but found it too bright sounding after one month of listening. After I inserted Schitt Freya pre between Dave and Jot R, it had got much better.

I use redbook CD stored in SSD of Cocktail Audio X30 to feed HMS and Dave. With high filter off, it sounds slightly more detailed but somewhat thin. I prefer to have it on with Stax 009s due to round tonality. But HD 800s sounds better with filter off due to more spooky details.
