Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

There are several things that keep me coming back to this forum. One is finding some music that is incredible. Thanks Tom. Another reason is revealed in the following link. After seeing that many years ago my internet posting fell by 90%, but I'm still working on it. Duty Calls

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

A few hours ago, after not thinking of this story since well into the last century, it popped into me head as I was talking with an old lover on the phone. So I had to tell it to her. And here it is again. If you do a Google search for it in pdf form it is easy to find on the internet. Recommended.

    >snip< About 15 years ago I switched to Apple computers for my home system. Over time I had a moderate library of songs and CD's download to the computer. I'm very much attuned to alternate takes and versions of songs, performances, and like obscure rare versions. and had a lot of those stored...

I think your priorities are off. I suggest you remove the door to the bathroom, put the sub where it needs to go for best sound. No big deal for people to step over the sub. Then you are done. Addendum: if the bathroom does not have an exhaust fan you might want to add one.

Low end. Cheap. Generic. Otherwise bang for buck cable thread!

Thinking of buying some new speaker cables. 8' long, not bi-wired. Speakers: Linaeum 10, Nominal impedance: 8 ohms, goes down to 6 ohm but nothing difficult. Sensitivity: 88dB. I'm considering BJC Twelve White Speaker Cable or Supra Classic 2.5. Thoughts?

I rode in an Audi EV a few days ago. It seemed very quiet and low road noise. This was city streets, 45mph at most. Light classical music was playing. ... and then I hear faint whine that increased in pitch and volume in acceleration, and the opposite in deceleration. It might have been 'added'...

Thank you for the heads up! One of my favorite ECM artists is Steve Tibbets. Unique electric guitar player, sui generis. I believe the following is factual, but... you know you are getting old when you can't remember what decade something happened in. You know you are really getting old when you...

I highly recommend not delaying taking a cat, especially a male cat to a vet if they have urinary issues. I lost Sunshine to a urinary blockage circa 1971; it took less that 36 hours. It discovered that the dry cat food of that era could cause then problem. A quick internet search shows that...

How to lose a remote: Once upon a time (hint: that is the traditional opening of a Fairy Tale...) I bought a used subwoofer via Craigslist. Very similar to what I and Brian Eno. Eno has said early in his career that he avoided looking at manuals when he got a new synthesizer because he could discover new sounds and possibilities no else had thought of before. Life hack: buy a backup remote if you buy anything with a remote that...

A few companies label the connections on the back in both right side up and upside down manner, so if you look over from the top 1/2 or some of the lettering is easy to read.
