Ohno Schiitizen
1000+ Head-Fier
I have the Vali 2++, a beautiful little gem, I am very happy with it (plus a GE5670 tube)I don’t have a Piety. I do have two Valis. A 2 & a 2++. You won’t be disappointed…

You are a well balanced man!2 for me, please. One glass for each hand.
Schiit amps could easily drive those large speakers.
but two is always better or as I plan to do build a single box stereo sub - reverse engineering a flexbase25 from amphion.Even one 12” Rythmik sealed sub will get the job done.
A few companies label the connections on the back in both right side up and upside down manner, so if you look over from the top 1/2 or some of the lettering is easy to read. I don't know if any use bright orange lettering. That would be much much better than light gray on black*.... or "black controls that are labelled in black on a black background..." See Douglas Adams, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe.Quick shout-out to a small but important design detail that doesn't get the appreciation it deserves:
Inputs and outputs on Schiit gear is always* arranged with the right channel on the right side, and the left channel on the left. Which is as it should be.
If you're looking at it from the back, you can read the labels and so it's already clear what goes where.
But you nearly always look at your gear from the front when you're changing things around. Do it the way Schiit does, and away goes the need for you to dislocate your neck while trying to yoga your way behind your stack to see which is which.
I'm always surprised at how many companies get that wrong.
* If arranged horizontally, obviously. In cases where the inputs or outputs are vertically aligned, left is always on top. (Although I'll be damned if I should ever actually remember that…)
old manufacturer for REL is BK electronics and they sell online for very reasonable prices - basically REL sound quality for less. If I wasn't going to build my own I would bauy a pair from them. Though after brexit the hassle to get it into Portugal is kind of cumbersome.re: REL. I personally think you are paying a premium for their nicer-looking cabinet, but if that's important to you then there is nothing wrong with them. As has already been mentioned, the Freya has two preamp outputs so you are good there but make sure whatever sub you buy includes a crossover and level control (and if you want complete control, a phase control) in its built-in amplifier.
Same as well, in my home office setup, along with a Loki Mini+. I alternate between a GE 5670 and a couple of adapted ECC88’s.I have the Vali 2++, a beautiful little gem, I am very happy with it (plus a GE5670 tube)
I have a WE396A in mine which I enjoy. I also have a GE 5-Star 5670 and a GE JAN 5670W. So, I have almost as much invested in tubes as I do the amp. Go figure.Same as well, in my home office setup, along with a Loki Mini+. I alternate between a GE 5670 and a couple of adapted ECC88’s.
My GE's are 5-star's too. Very nice tubes. Yeah, I've spent a fair amount on little lightbulb-adjacent disposable music enhancers. I figure it's still cheaper to roll tubes when I get bored with a sound than buying new amps and headphones (which I somehow still seem to do).I have a WE396A in mine which I enjoy. Very outside is birdseye maple, tiger wood, next to that is spalted maple, purpleheart, tiger maple, and the center is rainbow poplar.Spalted maple outer boards?
