Long awaited Smyth SVS Realiser NOW AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE

Read the licence page too! It says that svs could be incorporated into recievers, dvd players wireless phones.. This could end up being a less expensive way to get svs. Would it not be cool to have a blu-ray player with all the hardware built-in.. you could have a one-box home theater solution...

Smyth SVS Realiser Virtual Surround Technology for Headphones

The beyerdynamic does not allow for a true personal calibr ation like the svs. its more like an enhanced dolby headphone i think - doesnt relly interest me at all. I have a dolby headphone denon at home. Remember the first article made on svs by widescreen review magazine back many years ago...

The headphone jack on my Harman-Kardon HK3480 is amazing!

I was wondering if any harman-kardon owners could compare the dolby headphone to the any of the two wireless dolby headphone sets from pioneer or philips sbc-hd1500u. i'd like to point out that a quick search revealed that there are loads of apparantly cheap harmans going on ebay.com - most...

    Smyth Virtual Surround - finally!

Thank you Erik for the link to that review - it answers most of the questions that I've had. It seems you dont really need a surround setup to do the calibration, but only a single speaker- much cheaper to buy than a full 6.1 system of high quality- great. imagine having a smyth box with a...

    New surround Technology for Headphones

a digital out might be even better perhaps - but I wonder how much both amp and dac will really matter, considering that SVS works by copying the sound signature of speakers -I mean suppose it can make any phone, and any dac and any amp sound like any one speaker system due to its software...

    Beyerdynamic launches surround headphone system.

There is also the system from smyth called smyth virual surround - it uses headtracking and an individual calibartion procedure. There is a picture and some more info in this thread http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showt...ighlight=smyth - it certainly looks as good as the headzone...

Take HEED a new Hungarian kid is on the block.......

Hi PinkFloyd You mentioned that the Canamp can drive a high-sensitivity loudspeaker, but how would you do that - you would need a special cable, right? One thing that has caught my attention lately is the visaton b200 8" fullrange driver used in an open baffle configuration - there is a...

what a shame. Today I checked the smyth website but it's still under construction! I wonder if we will ever see a final product in the stores. Also these threads dont seem to generate as much attention as I was hoping for - in the beginning I felt certain that headfiers would appreciate such a...

    Smyth Virtual Surround - finally!

I found another positive impression of the performance of SVS on the headwize forum: http://headwize.com/ubb/showpage.php...id=889&fpage=2 - quote "SVS was a revelation to me" seems like SVS might be a real winner.

Nice info Erik - I'll be looking forward to the review. The SVS system looks very cool indeed. I wonder how long it takes before we see a review from one of us head-fiers. I was once told by a company representative that people were very welcome for a demonstration at the company...

    Smyth Virtual Surround - finally!

..well, I was thinking that one of these bass shakers e.g. butkicker might give one a good taste of motion effects in a cheap way and provide a nice supplement for the SVS system. I only wish the svs system was cheaper. I am hoping the proffesional svs system will make it easier to showcase...

    Fun 3d soundstage audio test!

I heard this about a year ago on my hd600 and was really impressed. I don't think it gets much better than this. Besides it made me believe that in fact headphones might be ideal for listening in surround and I only wish that we could have thr same effect for movies. Having tried dolby...

    Smyth Virtual Surround for Headphones

There will be a demonstration of the smyth virtual surround system (SVS) at CES over the next couple of days, and I'm hoping some of us head-fiers might go for a listen.
