Denon AH-D5200 (little brother of the AH-D7200)
They are quite different. The 7200 is much warmer with better bass, in both quantity and quality. I can’t imagine a headphone having a better low end It has a less prominent treble. It’s more laid back but after listening it for a while you realise nothing is missing. It’s so unfatguing and...- god-bluff

Partnering with Audiolab Omnia
Can confirm the 5200 sounds brilliant with the internal Omnia headamp, better in this particular application (and only this) than the 7200 and better than my dedicated headphone amps with this particular headphone . I may well be the only person who has this fairly obscure combination.The...- god-bluff

Your top three audio related purchases 2015
Just the one this year. Audiolab Omnia all-in-one system; top quality CD player, integrated/Pre/power amp, streamer, BT receiver, DAC, phono stage and very good Headphone Amp. The price they are selling for at the moment (half the orignal £1600) makes a mockery of most DACs and head amps IMO- god-bluff

Shanling X Myryad Music 1 Earphones
Christ! ?!?! Is this what’s happened to Myryad ? I had no idea. How low can a company fall ? A once fine (one of many) British HiFi make. Just trading on the name, like so many brands All very sad. At least we still make or at least design plenty of HiFi. One of the few areas in which...- god-bluff

‘All good things come to those who wait’ 😄 I don’t know of any that are cheaper at least uk. I got my HD600s a few years ago for £200 which I considered good value but each to their own 😏- god-bluff

Grado Fan Club!
The newer ones are braided to match the x series. Something I don't like. I prefer my QED extension which is a perfect match to the RS2e cable and superb quality. I'd rather not have to use any at all.- god-bluff

Grado cables are great quality but I do wish they would at least offer the option of a proper 10' length with 1/4" connector- god-bluff

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
Each to their own but there's no need to endure years of discomfort with these. Unless you are a commited masochist. It's a 2 minute to stretch them for comfort. Fully extend the headphones and gently straighten the metal part and the metal part only, one side at time using the thumb and...- god-bluff

2022 Q Acoustics Concept 20. Possibly the greatest audio bargain of them all. The speaker cabinets simply disappear, leaving an all enveloping flawless stereo sound. The matching stands are essential, the result a piece of visual as well as audio art. Denon AH D7200. Wonderfully smooth yet...- god-bluff

The Closed-Back Headphone Thread (Plus Comparisons & Reviews)
Yes they are wonderful sounding headphones and indestructible but quality control can be lacking. My latest pair had channel imbalance. This is not the first time with beyers and not something you will get with, say; Sennheisers. Just something to be aware of.- god-bluff

Rank the Headphones that You Own.
Have to say as great a these are, none really beat my speakers: fairly humble but utterly brilliant Q Acoustics Concept 20 s. The headphones may be as good in tonality (HD600), acoustic realism (RS2e), and better in detail (all, slightly), intimicy (all) and bass quantity and maybe quality...- god-bluff

Cable Extension?
Be aware that the Grado extension is now braided to match the newer X series headphones. I don't know what's the obsession with inflexible, braided cables especially with a long extension. It can easily get twisted, easily kinks and will soon look shabby where it gets caught or rubs against... -
hd25-1 impressions thread
That HD25 Light has the Sennheiser 'S' logo on the center screw covers. The old HD25 SP II 60 ohm had the words 'SENNHEISER' printed directly on the actual cups. The old model also had a 3m cable I believe.- god-bluff

Denon AH-7200
I find the opposite. The 5200 are not a patch on the 7200. The 5200 are a fairly decent average mid range pair of headphones dressed as an expensive high end headphone. I find the treble irritating, a slightly metallic edge. This from a Grado and Beyer owner. The 7200 on the other hand is a...- god-bluff

Well Grados used to be demoed with Graham Slee (hand made in South Yorkshire:))amps in the UK at one time. As did Sennheiser. I believe Grado still use a Solo Ultra Linear in Brooklyn. I like mine via my Solo amongst other amps. Point is there are certainly alternatives to the strangely...- god-bluff
