SONY IER-Z1R
I own the Z1R and have "owned" the OG Solaris for a few weeks. They are somewhat comparable, in the sense that I feel they're both aiming for the same thing; the execution on the Z1R is much better however, to my ears, and I quite like the Solaris. First off though, the fit on both is garbage...- Bostyn

Head-Fi Basshead IEM thread (lists page 1)
Ha It did, indeed. :beerchug: So far they have the best bass and treble ( with an ideal fit ) out of all the sets I own- Bostyn

Head-Fi Basshead IEM thread (lists page 1)
Amen. The Z1R bass is incredible. The quantity is nothing to scoff at either ( slams and rumbles more than all sets I own ) but the quality here is the shining focal point. Coming from timid, lean and fast BA bass the difference cannot be overstated... It's slow, in the best was possible, and...- Bostyn

SONY IER-Z1R
Shouldn't I order the S for a deep as possible fit? Since I'm using the SS stock triple comfort now for that purpose, which does an adequate job, though I feel I can achieve a more ideal fit; more snug and balanced, and most importantly, more comfortable. I'll order/try those first and see how...- Bostyn

SONY IER-Z1R
Finally I've managed to insert them deep enough. As posted many times before, ideal insertion depth is as deep as possible really, and the difference with a shallow fit is night and day. I put on a little vaseline to slip them in a little easier... Really deflowering my ears here But when an...- Bostyn

SONY IER-Z1R
Damn I might be beating a dead horse here but these are the worst fitting IEMs in history — and I've tried many. I have relatively big ears too, so I can only shudder to think how people with smaller ears suffer. Frustratingly it's only the left ear that spits them straight out, the right fits...- Bostyn

Astell & Kern SR25: The next A&norma player
My volume knob is way worse. It started like yours and now its squeaks and rattles, and has more resistance than before, as if they're something stuck in there ( there isn't). It's just worn out. Before it ticked satisfyingly. I'd recommend using it sparingly, only to activate volume control and...- Bostyn

Campfire Audio - Introducing 2 new models Hello Andromeda and Nova
The 2020 Andros are incredible. Most enjoyment I got from music since I put on my LCD-Xs five years ago and my 650s four years prior to that. From their new lineup I still prefer them over their other, newer and more expensive offerings ( granted I only had 30mins recently with the 2020...- Bostyn

Audeze LCD-X
For what it's worth the Xs have the best bass/low frequency response I've ever had the pleasure of hearing. Once you're accustomed to planar bass it's very hard to be satisfied with other headphones ( depending on your preference of course); it's just so visceral. I own the HD800 as well. Its...- Bostyn

Audeze LCD-X
I've owned my LCD-Xs since 2014 and after all that time they're still my favourite pair of cans. I have listened to headphones 1k+ more expensive and either found the increase in perceivable quality so minute that it didn't justify the increase in price or found my LCD-Xs flat out better, or at...- Bostyn

The Closed-Back Headphone Thread (Plus Comparisons & Reviews)
I own the LCD-Xs and HD800 and while those are technically superior, I am enjoying my WP900 more atm. Though the Xs are still my all-time favourite. Depends what you're looking for. I rate pleasure over truth, someone else might like the clarity of the HD800 or other AT flagships over the WP900- Bostyn

Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆
I'll find out soon enough. But of course I don't see myself wearing the X outside anyway. Hmm how would you describe the sound of the mojo apart from having a slightly closed-in signature?- Bostyn

Anyone here got experience with driving the LCD-X ( or other ( audeze ) planars ) through the mojo? I know it's probably not ideal just wondering- Bostyn

True. Despite that somewhere I still have a pathological desire to upgrade and upgrade because maayyybe the new drivers sound better, even if the change is infinitesimal. But I won't risk it. Cheers- Bostyn

Dragonfly Cobalt is definitely not worth it's Price Tag
I've heard both the mojo and cobalt and really can't fathom how anyone could prefer the latter to the former, sonically speaking. Of course the mojo is an unwieldy device that picks up static from your phone ( unless you put it in airplane mode ) and many people regard form factor/portability as...- Bostyn

Audeze LCD-X
Hey. I have had my LCD-Xs for a while now and they are still by far my favourite pair of cans. But I still have the pre-2016 drivers. Contemplating upgrading but, apart from the money, I'm not sure I want to sound to change in any manner so I'm pretty cautious. Can someone tell me if there is...- Bostyn

Audeze LCD-X
Got the chance recently to test the 2016 versions and I find that the so-called improvements are not worth it for me. I should've known better not to buy into the typical head-fi hyperoble. Maybe the highs are a little smoother, maybe that's just confirmation bias—it's certainly not big enough...- Bostyn
