Have not heard the Liric 2. But the Z1R is technical better than the Radiance and with a bigger stage. The Radiance is better tuned. The Z1R can still compete if you like the signature :)

Hifi Klubben in Europe do not allow you to return Iems if the seal have been broken. Don't know if this is the law or not but at least you know before you buy. The following link is in Danish but you should be able to translate it or find it in English...

MDR-Z1R = headphone IER-Z1R = Iems IER-M7 = Iems Sony generally have a very confusing way of naming. And that's not only for headphones, it's goes for most of their devices. Just look at Sony daps or smartphones it's impossible to remember the exact name :)

I have both the Z1R and the Radiance. Both are great headphones but also different. I would say they are complementary..:). The Radiance is much better tuned, one of the best tuned close back headphones available today but still have that Focal house sound. More in your face where the Z1R is...

They do. Maybe Meze have different cables or your retailer want to sell you a more expensive cable :). That said the connecters are a bit different and they can break if you don't handle with care. But that goes for many cables/connecters. Edit: Sorry for the lousy picture...I am no photographer!

I use the same cable. It's more than good enough. I use it with both my T5P 2gen and Radiance when I want to go balanced. It's not necessary to spend a fortune on cables :)

You are completely forgetting about the Focal Radiance...:) the best tuned closed Focal headphone. Yes its a small step down in technicalities but a step up i tuning. And it cost 1/3 of the Stellia. Even if the cost was the same i think i would choose Radiance over Stellia.

Definitely do not agree Nomax :). This is the very bass light edition for Focal Radiance. I prefer Radiance without any EQ at all and I actually think that the default tuning is spot on. We all have different ears and opinions :)

An easy recommendation would be Topping G5 at 300 usd. It has 1.2 W at 32ohm and 1 W at 16ohm. It drives my Aeon Open without any problem. It also has Bluetooth connection.
