Just Call Me Etymotic Convert #23342

My ER4Ps are like a breath of fresh clean air compared to the veiled sound of my UM1s. I'm using the tri-flanges but I'd like to try other options. Do the Shure tips work with no modifications? What other tips will fit?

    IEM Newbie: My UM1 Adventure

I found the UM1s to be a little muddy or veiled and even fatiging after about an hour of listning. I replaced them with ER4Ps and am quite happy with the improvement.

UM1 first impressions, or Curse You Head-FI!

I really can't help you out here but I do know that the UM1 wasn't for me. I kept them for a couple of weeks before returning them just yesterday. They didn't have the clarity and detail that I like. No matter what I did, they still had a slight veil which kept me from enjoying them. From...

Are you scared that your IEM’s might be too loud?

Etymotic is conducting a study on this subject. It will be interesting to see the results. http://www.etymotic.com/aer/epresearch.aspx My advice - turn it down. Louder is not really better. You will get used to listening at lower volume levels if you give it some time.

    Disappointed with UM1

I listen to a fairly wide variety of music, mostly classic rock, and sometimes jazz, blues and classical. I've been using some Sony IEMs for a year or so. I forget the model number but they retailed for around $50 or $60 if I remember correctly. They're ok but I never expected too much from...

    Disappointed with UM1

I've had my UM1s for a week and I'm not all that thrilled with them. I can't help but feeling that they're a bit veiled. They seem to be lack the crispness, clarity and detail that I prefer. IEM comfort - how do you wear yours?

Are there any IEMs that aren't designed to be worn (or don't need to be worn) with the cables routed behind the ears? I find it somewhat uncomfortable and distracting. I have UM1s now and they don't seem to fit in the ear very well unless I have them positioned for the cables to run up and...

    UM1 or Er6i

I just ordered the UM1 based on the opinions posted here and on the advice of Earphone Solutions. That, plus the fact that the Westones are supposed to be more confortable than all the others. I'll post my opinion of them when I get a chance to try them out.
