Official FiiO X1 beta firmware download and discussion thread--FW1.61: added ReplayGain, and library search function
Hi, everybody. I'm the proud owner of an X1 (en-route, to be delivered in 2 days!) after a disappointing experience with another player. I have about 12,000 files, mostly in FLAC (a couple hundred in high-bitrate MP3). Most of them have embedded cover-art (which I understand the X1 will show)...- ShiftyParadigm

The Xduoo X3 looks great. Any chance of finding an option with a color screen for album art?- ShiftyParadigm

Looking to get another DAP to replace my new 770C. I really like it's sound quality (and I'm sure I'm being a bit petty) but I just can't get used to the lack of physical buttons and terrible customer support, I'd really hoped the new Rockbox would change my mind, especially because I'd spent...- ShiftyParadigm

XVortex - silly question... when there's a Rockbox system update (like the one you just posted on your download page) I assume you can just copy the new .rockbox folder over the old one on the microSD card? I shouldn't need to reapply the firmware with that cumbersome image updater, do you?- ShiftyParadigm

I've tried Windows 10 in all of its compatibility modes, in both 32- and 64-bit versions. I couldn't get it to work, no matter what, until I found a Windows 7 PC I hadn't upgraded yet. Like jdog said -- if you have access to a WinXP machine, you should be able to do it off a USB thumbdrive.- ShiftyParadigm

That was the problem. I hadn't placed the .rockbox folder in the MicroSD card's root. I did so and now everything's great.- ShiftyParadigm

It's working great for me, XVortex! I had the usual headaches associated with upgrading the 770C firmware (Xuelin's fault... not yours). I also downloaded the AluminArt theme from the Rockbox site and it works well. I've shown appreciation for your hard work via your donation page; I...- ShiftyParadigm

I finally got a chance to try XVortex's Rockbox image. After 2 hours of failed attempts at getting 'RK27 Loader Device Not Found' errors, I finally was able to find a USB port & cable combination that allowed me to flash the new Rockbox firmware. All went well, it ended successfully, BUT...- ShiftyParadigm

On a vaguely related note... if this works as well as it seems, I'm thinking of getting one of those 200GB MicroSD cards for my 770C. I've got a 128GB card by Silicon Power in there now. Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with the 200GB cards?- ShiftyParadigm

I suspect if XVortex gets a good Rockbox image going for the new 770C he will be very pleasantly surprised at the traffic he gets to his donation page! There are a LOT of people praying for one, myself included! He'll have no trouble finding volunteers to serve as beta-testers.- ShiftyParadigm

I'm curious... did that wonderful, new firmware for the NEW 770C ever come out that improves FLAC support and offers album art? Xuelin promised it would come out months ago, but it doesn't appear to have been released. ???- ShiftyParadigm

I hate to say this, but I think I agree with Kwangsun. I'm starting to regret my choice. When I was searching for a reasonably-priced player for my library that I'd recently ripped to FLAC my research immediately pointed to the Fiio players, but I started hearing about a very promising, new...- ShiftyParadigm

I have Windows 7 (64-bit) and have been able to run the last two updates. It was picky about the Micro-USB cable I used (both work fine everywhere else) but, otherwise, Win7 was fine for me.- ShiftyParadigm

Oh, good.... so I'm not crazy! ;) A few times lately I've noticed the battery indicator showing 100% for a LONG time, then I'll glance at it 20-25 minutes later and it suddenly shows that the battery is nearly dead. It hasn't disrupted my listening yet, so it ranked a relatively low priority...- ShiftyParadigm
